J Eric Hill was engineer at Barnsey Shed from 1945 to October 1971 when it closed. He lived at Dene Garth, Kelbrook Road, Barnoldswick.
Pop Hill was the founder of the Clarion Cycling Club branch in Barlick. He was killed in a road accident near Ribchester and there is a memorial form to him on the roadside near Yarlside Farm on the Bracewell to Horton road. He was a clogger and shoe repairer and had premises at the bottom of Manchester Road.

Raymond W Hill was a prominent trade unionist in Barlick as late as 1978. He was a councillor 1961-1967 and 1971-1974. He was BUDC chairman 1964-65.
