1901 Living at Throstle Nest and George is a chartered accountant.
George Proctor 40
Selina Proctor 39
John Walmesley 74
John Walmesley in the 1901 was the father in law, so you have Selina's maiden name
Throstle Nest. Wendy is right, it's Thornton and that answers a large part of my query, it's the Thornton connection in 1901 for sure and of course he could have been there at any time after 1891. What I was after was evidence that George was living locally at the end of the 19th century. Now all I have to do is track down the Bank House reference. On March 15th 1893 he is noted in the minutes as 'George Proctor of Bank House', no town given but that in itself points to it being local. In July 1891 CHSC were negotiating to install gas at Bank Hall [Bank House] but they never owned it. On the evidence I have so far it looks as though George moved to Bank House shortly after 1891 but ten years later was living in Thornton in Craven. I think I may be getting there! Thanks for the help.

Re: George Proctor [Info from Gloria OGFB]
The significance of this item is that George Proctor acted as secretary for many shed companies and it was an advantage for the Barlick companies that he lived locally despite his accountancy business being in Burnley.
