Owd Gormless
Owd Gormless - the fountain commemorating Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee - originally stood on Church Street in front of The Commercial Hotel. After a sojourn in Letcliffe Park it was moved to the town square (created in the 1990s on the site of the former Co-op building). The pub was renamed The Barlick in the 1980s (correct me if I’m wrong, please!) and then The Fountain in 2012 when it became a bistro.
