In and working, unfortunately. I may venture to the co-op in a bit but the shorts are staying in the cupboard today.

The town square is shaping up nicely for the FREE live music sessions over the coming weekend. I'll catch a bit of it but, unfortunately for me, I have to work for a lot of it. Someone has to keep the lights on...

Re: SUMMER 2012

We've had two days of warm gentle showers. The glass has risen again to 30", it's overcast but dry at the moment. Could be a good time to go for the mid-day walk! And indeed it was. I bumped into him in the town, made a fuss of Jack and away we went. I am in denial over the weather, the shorts...

Re: Fanny Grey

The Barlick is due to re-open soon as a Bistro and B&B. We need a few more B&B's if BTC are encouraging tourism.

Coffee Corner, currently hidden away in Newtown, will be moving to The Railway once the refurbishment work is complete.

Two parlours in Barlick now Stanley, there must be mileage somewhere. Perceived fashion and what constitutes "the body beautiful" is a strange thing isn't it? Not my "cup of tea". I am, however, impressed by how well Lee Pickles parlour, on Rainhall Rod, blends in with the other...

I got a cheque from a credit card company yesterday. It was a refund of PPI payments made over a 6 year period. They had neglected to mention, in the T's&C's, that pre-existing medical conditions were not covered. All it cost me was 2 stamps, one to the credit card company and one to the financi...

She is an excellent cook so I don't complain. Yesterday we went to a buffet restaurant and this is what her friend brought back for sweet:...

Lamb shanks, in the pressure cooker, with carrots, onions, garlic, rosemary, half a bottle of merlot and a good "glug" of balsamic vinegar. Served with mashed spuds. Very tasty.
