Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
It was one of those situations when 'team orders' became very obvious and dominated the last 10 or so laps of the race. Mclaran were first and second but Norris was told to give up his 5 second lead and let Piastri take first place. We listened to his engineer begging him to do it until the the penu...

George Wraws in Colne was an outfitters and jewellers, also a pawnbrokers. It was in the rather fine buildings on Swan Croft or Market Place which were demolished in the 1970s to make way for the new Market Hall. 355677893_7029470663753397_8855072393920970064_n.jpg 358660803_10228630197712943_666722...

I'm not sure whether I should post this here or in the weather topic as I was sat in the garden enjoying the weather.

The Grand Prix at Silverstone this afternoon promises to be an exciting race. The two Mercedes are on the front row with Norris in the Maclaren third and Verstappen fourth after having a problem in qualifying. Add rain into the mix and being able to watch it live on Channel 4...whoopee!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I'm going to Skipton station to see Tangmere, a Battle of Britain Class Loco, hauling the Waverley steam excursion from York to Carlisle. I've been wanting to see it as my dad was stationed at Tangmere when it was attacked. I thought we might go to Hellifield where it stops to take on water but I've...

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
That's right Kev. I've had it for 40 years at least but didn't know what it was until I searched Google this morning. It is a German Springerle biscuit mould which was given to my parents in the late 1960s by the Duropal rep who Dad became friends with through his work at Arnold Laver's in Leeds. Sp...

Re: Booth Bridge farm and mill, Thornton in Craven.
There is a lot of confusion between Earby Mill and Booth Bridge Mill. We are pretty certain now that it was Earby Mill which was for sale with the 30ft wheel and new built dwelling house in 1814 following the fire.

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS
Many, many years ago Colin built an ioniser for my dad which was plugged in beside his bed and helped to clear his sinuses. It might be worth considering. I think it was a project in an early issue of Elektor magazine along with the magnetiser which Mum used to ease her arthritic pains for at least ...

Re: WW2 service records
Just for the record, the National Archives haven't asked for any money yet for my dads service records. The original deal from the MOD was £30.00 if they turned anything up, maybe its a different deal with the NA's, who knows? It could be that because the request was passed from pillar to post the ...
