Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Do you often go walking just in your underpants Stanley? :extrawink:

Underpants are a lot cheaper than softshell jackets, I would get some new ones to sort that!

Our tomato greenhouse blew over during the night despite having two rather large plant pots in the bottom full of soil.

I installed some replacement shock cord in the bottom seam of my softshell walking jacket. The cord that was in had lost all it elasticity and I was getting a bit of a draft. :extrawink:

I noticed that Bozo when interviewed was impersonating a Police Officer when he came "up norf" to Liverpool. Obviously where all the nasty drug dealers are of course. I wonder who supplies the House of Inequity, (sorry the Houses of Parliament) with all the cocaine found in the toilets? On another ...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

A couple of folk in Japan I think have contracted the Omicron variant while in hotel isolation. CCTV shows that their door has only been opened to deliver food and supplies using accepted Covid PPE rules so they think the virus has been carried by air currents into the room.

As it's not your object and have used a picture from online, I will relate what I found about the very same image. Apparently it's a servant call button, set into the floor and operated by foot.

Back to the mundane. I believe that both Spar garages are closed due to technical matters, the tills are bust so they cant process payments. So no petrol available in the town.

Just for the record the TC can and does set it's own precept. They also get additional brass from Pendle for the bits they have taken off their hands.

It's a "we" thing today. It's our 45th wedding anniversary. It was a lot colder on the 4th December 1976, hard frost for nearly a fortnight, everything was frozen solid. Heating was on full bore in Carleton Church but you could still see your breath.

All the civic facilities so to speak, Rainhall Centre, Town Square management, Civic Hall, Victory and Letcliffe Parks and the Public Conveniences, Christmas lighting etc. They get a lot of money to do it. I have said for years that they should just make sure St Mary's Tower doesn't fall down as it supports the famous bit of the Victorian pile in the form of the clock and Big Ben. The rest of the jerry built palace is sinking into the Thames and they haven't figured out how to stop that yet. Couple th...

I had to laugh when he said that he had the vaccine at the same hospital that he was treated for Covid at. That will be the one where he must have had a miracle cure because he was only in for a couple of days from memory. :extrawink:
