Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Full blown migraine, well the last time. Nausea, flashing lights, splitting headache, shivering and sweating at the same time, not nice. :nooo: Doc says you can wean back on to an intolerance by sipping a teaspoonful a time until you feel symptoms, then stop note how much you can tolerate and then i...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

I would have to pass on the Affagato. I have been promising to wean myself back on to coffee at some point. It always smells nice but taboo for the last 40 odd years. I will have to find a day when I don't have any commitments. :extrawink:

Re: Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread

This mornings bake. One of the best that I have turned out. 30297 Fed my starter yesterday and mixed the dough when it was roaring. Stretched and folded yesterday afternoon and when sufficiently strengthened I set it up in the Banneton and shoved it in the fridge overnight, (it was trying to escape ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

This afternoon we have a chat booked at the gym with Katie, encouraged by our Jack who uses the facilities. They have an over 60's group that will probably be beneficial for us both. Brew and a chat to see what they can offer. Interested to see what they have done with my Uncle Bobs Joiners Shop at...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Found an email that I forgot about with going on holiday. I should have booked a service for the car which was due on the 20th of this month. I'll do that today, needs looking at as I have noticed an intermittent slight whine when in Drive. As reported elsewhere lift my starter from the fridge to wa...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

My last post reminds me that I need to lift 10 out of the fridge for his weekly warm and feed. I will be making some replacement Naans from the discard and another loaf after I have fed him up. 1 x 500g flour sour dough loaf just last about a week, we are at the far end of last weeks bake today. My ...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Lunch today was light and very much Barlick generated. I toasted two slices of home made sour dough bread. I had crunchy peanut butter on one and slathered the other with some of our Jack's honey from his bees. The latter tasting like the heather the bees foraged from, lovely. Tea will be ho...

Re: BE Bosom Friends Information and Fund Raising Events

Had to get a bit creative today. Wax & Taps on Albert Road requested some collection buckets for an event they are running on Saturday. We have both tubs and buckets for donations for the group and have or I should say had custom labels for both. I have generic labels for the tops of the buckets...

A later development still since we started using aircraft is the change from two fixed wheels, (which we have) to four castors, that's another game changer especially for the folk that seem to take the entire house with them. They must surely pay a hefty excess for the privilege when they check in. ...

I know you are interested in drainage systems Stanley so I thought of you on our recent trip to Rhodes. We stayed in a reasonable sized village or I suppose small town called Lalysos. I have noticed these features though on other Greek islands that we have visited. The Greeks take their drainage ver...

Re: BE Bosom Friends Information and Fund Raising Events

There hasn't been any objections Stanley it's just a requirement of the fire regulations as we will have the upstairs for meetings and community use. So temporary multiple occupancy which has to be safely catered for. The regs were beefed up disproportionally by the previous government as a knee jer...

Re: BE Bosom Friends Information and Fund Raising Events

Public notice has gone up on Frank Street regarding changes to our plans. A minor change to the shop front and the formation of an emergency exit, refuge and fire escape stairs at the rear of the property from the first floor. We knew that this could become a requirement. Not ideal as it will impact...

It has to be said that there is no way from the Charity Commission website accounts, that I can find, to trace exactly how much has been given to whom, and for what purpose. This opens the door to potential mischief. This is for all charities not just this one. There are of course matters of medica...

Trying to rescue a White Tailed Bumblebee that was struggling in the yard. I think he's a male according to his markings so no stinger. I mixed up some sugar water a dosed the centre and petals of a nice big purple flower in the back yard pretty much stripped of pollen. It's head was upturned so mad...
