Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Sally says she did a Google search for "bathroom fittings" to see what was available and the results turned up loads of bits for blinds as well.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I will wait till the madness passes and the brain dead have had their fill. Some folk are so stupid they can't recognise that they are causing their own problem. Ian, hearing that comment from a socialist surprises me because when I worked in a publishing company most of the employees were socialis...

Kev, your picture above would be funny if it wasn't so sad. They should ban everyone from filling Jerry cans.

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS

Not sure Kev but there are plenty of upstairs flats in Barlick over the shops which don't necessarily meet the parking requirements if that is the case. The space is normally taken up with the traders operating below.

Of course and between the Tories and Liberals on Colne Town Council they have also killed the goose that lays the golden eggs by their short sighted cancellation of the Blues Festival. Total madness.

Indeed it is and still very popular. Redid our bedroom wall with "Tudor" not too long ago.

Re: Seen in the News

There is plenty of work for the traditional skilled trades, joiners, electricians and plumbers, decent builders. You have to be prepared to work and get your hands dirty though. A degree is not required but skill is. An extra advantage is that you don't end up with a huge debt round your neck when y...

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS

I reckon the top picture is of the two ugliest buildings in Barlick. The bottom one of Martins Bank (HSBC, and the the bookies) is now just part of a building consortium's portfolio. I know as our group (Bosom Friends) put a realistic offer in to buy it but they want too much brass and would rather ...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I was going to fill up at the Sainsbury garage on North Valley on our way to Boundary Mill yesterday. I go there because the fuel is 5p a litre less than in Barlick. I was filling up because I have less than 100 miles in the tank, 86 I think. It was queued back to just short of the road, about 5 wai...

Too right! Thanks for raising the matter and looking after us Ian. I know you'll not take a lot of notice but any expenses you incur like telephone bills should be charged to the fund. Last day today and the lads tipped up at 9.20 after loading up with the final bits for today, all except the base cabinet for the washbasin. We had a minor leak overnight as there was water around the base of the toilet. I didn't notice it last night and it wasnt a deluge but clearly needed attentio...

Thanks to everyone who has donated we now have a balance of £236.13 We have just paid the September I/P bill. I reckon that with the monthly outgoings being £12.00 and the quarterly around £45.00 for easy reckoning and barring any major meltdown. We should be solvent until just before the June quart...

I have given Talk Talk a nudge on our Business Broadband dashboard messaging, still no response. It's still marked as an open repair ticket with a note for customer response which I have done twice now. I will be asking for a refund when it's sorted for loss of service.

I remember them saying that gloves were counter productive as covid protection. Much better off using the hand gel on the way in and out and then washing your hands when you get home.

Graham, I will PM you some details. A cheque would be fine, I could pay it into the post office then transfer it to the site PP account. Alternatively I will send you my backup account details that you could try, saves on the postage. :extrawink:
