Re: Blood Donors

Hassan asked me about that, I don't eat liver and he is with me on that one he doesn't like it either. He said that it's OK trying to jig the levels on diet but it can take a lot longer and he wants to see if I retain levels after a known dosage of iron tablets. Not good to double whammy iron replac...

Doc has suggest that I don't donate again until after my follow up blood test. Two months of Iron tablets, one month off then a blood test in the new year to check levels again.

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

No new router yet for the centre. I have looked on our Business Broadband online dashboard and at the products we have. All they have seemed to have done is extend the original contract for the 17Mbps ADSL for 12 months. As I read the terms we have 30 days to cancel the contract if it doesn't come u...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

I thought that I might get a follow up email to say that the original was the base deal and they would be upgrading us to fibre but no such luck. It's annoying so I have replied to yesterdays email, (because it said I should if there were any discrepancies) and suggested the sales team review the re...

From a picture composition point of view I would think that the one of the Lightning with the farmer and tractor in front is a perfect example of being in the right place at the right time. Pilot was lucky though, no doubt about that!

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

Just looked at the email that was sent from the sales dept at Talk Talk. All we talked about on the phone was the fibre package but the deal referred to in the email is for the bog standard Business Broadband which is 17Mps ADSL. He did say get back in touch if there are any problems. I will wait an...

Either a starting handle for some kind of engine or a wheel nut wrench.

If for the latter, the loop in the round bar would allow the use of a tommy bar for more leverage if required.

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

Well that was interesting, just had another chat with the support team. I mentioned that the previous support agent suggested that we needed a new router. They tried to tell me that it would cost us £100 + P&P + VAT for a replacement! I pointed out that I had been offered, accepted and had confirmed...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

I am currently interacting with Talk Talk with my Trustee hat on for Bosom Friends. Since we reopened the centre we have noticed that we have WiFi but without internet, as much use as a chocolate teapot! When we first got the line we had TT Business Broadband. It was a new line install and had to be...

I will be going round to Bosom Friends centre to find out why we have no internet on the WiFi. I reckon Open Reach have buggerd it when they did the fibre to pole upgrade. Also start a repair on a mobility scooter we have. Ignition switch needs moving and I need to get the control box off, will need...

Re: Amateur Radio Homebrew (Shack Culture)

This is a bit more involved Kev. I doesn't have many leads but as the main power stage in the amplifier it has specific heat sinking requirements. You have to get that right or it will fry itself. It's built with overkill though as the IC is capable of delivering 40W of RF drive but is only used at ...

It would be very revealing if we had the statistics for those with proper contracts for a 40 hour week. I think it would be shameful.
