Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

THIS caught my eye this morning. There's a saying that Robert F Kennedy Jr is very fond of. He used it on the day he was confirmed as US health secretary. "A healthy person has a thousand dreams, a sick person only has one," he said as he stood in the Oval Office. "60% of our populat...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

A year has gone by and I am booked in at the surgery for diabetes clinic and blood test this morning. I have been doing a BP reading every morning for five days and they all hover round 120/80 which augurs well for the rest of the tests. My aim is another year of repeat prescriptions!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

It always amused me that decaffeinated was unleaded on the street in S California.... I am so lucky that I don't have these allergies and my morning coffee of real coffee is my daily indulgence. Which reminds me of something I have been noting for a while. I don't get the full range of flavour from ...

HOOKER I was aware of Darwin’s views fourteen years before I adopted them and I have done so solely and entirely from an independent study of the plants themselves. Joseph Dalton Hooker, in an 1860 letter to a friend. There is ample evidence that this is a true statement. Charles Darwin often confir...

I'm back in the world. Waste paper out for recycling, a load of washing on the go and I am set up for savoury cabbage cooking as a veggie extender. Lots of honest endeavour.... I need a rest and a hot drink! :good:

So good to hear that Bob had a good day. A fitting reward for all the effort and so sad when it doesn't happen. Good job it wasn't today as it looks as though it is going to be too hot for comfort. They're forecasting 34C for Wimbledon..... Include me out!

The fact that for the second day on the trot I overslept by an hour. Is my body trying to tell me something? I found THIS very confusing. The prime minister has condemned UK punk duo Bob Vylan for urging "death" to Israeli troops in what he called "appalling hate speech". Glaston...

Hey Farm in 1976. There were so many certainties in life then, all of which were to change in the next few years. But we didn't know that then so it was a happy time. Now it's a forgotten corner.

That was a busy weekend Kev! What a good job you have a functioning car and not a basket full of error messages! I didn't watch it all David.... Too much to do at this time of the morning, especially if you've had a big sleep. But it was a good factual story of what was happening. How many people from today's generation will have 40 years in work, let alone in the same job..... We have lost that certainty and ...
