Re: Walkerholme

Interesting! Hello Phil and welcome to One Guy. I've just had a look through Fay Oldland's book on the History of Foulridge and there is no mention of Walker Holme. She states that the Walton family moved into Ball House from Marsden in 1710 and also has Waltons at Reedymoor Farm. I'll see what I ca...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

That's a bit scary Kev!
What a beautiful day it has been. This morning I enjoyed a long chat with my hairdresser and this afternoon a glorious walk around Kelbrook Moor with Sally. Curlews, lapwings and skylarks..... memories to store away.

First swallows arriving this afternoon. They don't nest in our barn anymore, but plenty at the farm next door. It's such a joy to see them....

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I might decline the shed this morning because I have to be out of the house and on my way to the library at 10:00 and don't want to cut back on second sleep. I'm going to the library because I've been invited by the library to go to a lecture that Ian McKay is giving this morning on Bancroft Shed. ...

Re: OBITUARIES

Richard Chamberlain, always Dr Kildare to me, has died. One of the first records I bought was the Dr Kildare Theme.
I've just remembered that he was in the 1973 version of The Three Musketeers which was a fabulous film with Michael York as d'Artagnan.

Re: Where Have You Just Been?

I nipped into Skipton yesterday afternoon too Gloria to visit the art gallery on Victoria Street. They have been holding a Peter Brook event and I have a small collection of his prints. There is very little that I want or need these days but I felt I should treat myself to something special with the...

They were running late and didn't land at Barton Airport, they disappeared off Flight Radar so I lost them. My friend who lives in Ramsbottom saw them!

Very happy Kev! There is no commission on gold just a flat ,handling fee. I'm not sure what happened with the silver bangles, perhaps they didn't meet the hidden estimate.

Col has just been up to inspect the damage and its not as bad as we thought. The stone posts are OK, it was a concrete gatepost and all the fencing around the cattle grid that suffered damage. We just have access over our neighbour's land up to the road Kev so luckily not our problem, though it woul...

I think Col has faced 3 catheter removal days, always anxious times for him and me too! Luckily he hasn't had any bladder problems since his last TURPS procedure about 4 years ago. I hope it goes well Kev.
