Off to the RR Leisure Centre today, a Coffee and Cars event has been advertised. There may be opportunity for some photography which will keep me out of mischief for a bit

Picking our jack up from Perry's, (car in for service). Then up to Coniston Hall for lunch with Uncle Joe, a continuation of his birthday celebrations.

I failed miserably yesterday, totally failed to get in the shed because a friend of mine asked me to hook her up with me on Whatsapp. I couldn't do it and in the middle of struggling I got a message from her, she had done it..... By that time it was too late! I shall do better today.....

I lost a day trying to hook up with my niece with what's app, which we needed as it was how she wanted to contact me when she was in France.

We are going to Carla's for a Mothers Day Tea. It's actually a Guinea Pig session, we are being used to test savoury and sweet tarts. Carla and a few of her friends have a themed cooking challenge each year in the Spring. All surrendered up at a garden gathering each year on a good day in Summer. Last year it was a pie fest this year it's tarts.

A tart fest. I like the sound of that! Another string to your bow, the tart tester.

Sue. Thanks for that. I'm glad I am not alone.....
I pulled something in the top of my right thigh yesterday. It didn't develop until the afternoon but it is now in full flow. I doubt if Jack will get more than a short walk this morning! As for the shed.... it's looking doubtful.

That's a lovely image Kev. I think I can detect the digital influence, something quite alien about the rendition of the gable ends in the background compared with film. It's sharp out of focus if you get my meaning.
I am completely cured of affection for cars, it's ten years since I sold my last one, the Astra and kicked my licences into touch.

I have to report that I haven't missed the expense and regulations at all! I know they are essential for many but my advice is to get shut as soon as you can!
As I am pain free I shall be in the shed but being careful!

Thank you and yes, there is a bit of Photoshop work there. I should have shot it with a bigger aperture, I just dropped the saturation a bit and put a bit of iris blur on the background to increase the separation a bit. It does look a bit 'false' but it does the job.

I'm, too old fashioned Kev, I was taught to print images with the mask bleeding in to prove there hadn't even been cropping. Nice to see my eye is still in!

Looking forward to a visit this morning from archaeologist Janis and her friend who is an expert in vernacular buildings. They are going to see if there are any clues to the age of the farm buildings.

Interesting Wendy. I did a history course with the local WEA when I first retired on vernacular buildings. I really enjoyed it.

Today I have an untutored art workshop....a chance to finish off a few things. Hairdressers this afternoon then back home to finish a bit of sewing. I never regret converting our spare bedroom into a sewing room as I can just do the odd half hour when ever I want. The machine is always set up. I bought one of those posh cabinets that looks like a piece of furniture out of my inheritance. I never regret that either. I can just close it all up if we need the room when the family come to stay.

I learned a lot when I was at Pendle Heritage Wendy.... My guess would be mid 18th century.
Today is the usual Friday tasks and I really do want to crash on with the winder. Making good progress!

Sue, you've reminded me of the ladies at Gladstone Pottery. I could watch them making clay flowers for hours....
I shall be making an even smaller part for the engine......
And looking forward to a visit from Susan and Joanne!
