Re: Bluesinger's Musical Ramblings
Some lovely contributions .....!
Just when you start to get the feeling that good guitar playing is alll about fingures flying about like little pink maggots (up the "dusty end") along comes something like this......
Now going to set off rambling on tinternet-thingy to see if I can find my favourite jugband clip....

Re: Bluesinger's Musical Ramblings
I'm watching you lot develop your You-tube skills and learning. Thanks for doing the pioneering! My favourite guitar music has always been Segovia playing Concierto Aranjuez (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptvchIjT4aY). The only reason for this was that I was given a bunch of 8 track Lear Jet cassettes when they became obsolete and I had a player in the house and the cab of the wagon. I#m sure you remember that if you left them alone they played on a loop until you ejected the cartridge so I tended to listen to one piece over and over again. I keep thinking I should go on the net and look for free classzical music, I can't afford CDs... Any suggestions?
As you can see, I've been taking notes! Another posting skill. Thanks.

This is what you want Stanley.
You can not get more classical than this.

"I can't afford CD's - any suggestions?"
Let me recommend Spotify again. I believe you can still get 30 hours a month free? I pay £4.99 a month for full access. It's amazing, (and I don't use that word often).
Jug bands - here's my favourite band and track -it would be on my Desert Island Disc list

Re: Bluesinger's Musical Ramblings
Catty, thanks for that helpful suggestion but a bit of a shock for a young lad early in the morning. What struck me was their deadpan look.
Thanks for that David, I shall bear it in mind.
My mate Daniel spent a lot of time following Julian Bream and photographing him at work. (See Julian Bream: A Life on the Road. London: MacDonald, 1982. ISBN 0356078809. Text by Tony Palmer, photographs by Daniel Meadows.) He told me some good stories about the experience....

What I like about good poets and songwriters , is that sometimes you just don't "see it coming"....
Have a listen to this.......!

It always puzzled me why a slow blues singer should aspire to being known as Rushing.

Re: Bluesinger's Musical Ramblings
The end of the string seems to have CAP lc CAP as in: RcQ
Of the H6nLviIaRcQ
If you don't get it right and have too much in the string you can always edit and chop a bit of until you get the hang of the chunk you need.

Re: Bluesinger's Musical Ramblings
........
I just wanted to bloomin well watch it.
Keep trying Bodge ....and Thanks !
.....and Yes, I really like Trad Jazz (and Modern too)
What listeners often don't realise is that the cornet/trumpet/clarinet parts being played are EXACTLY what rock (and mainly blues) lead guitarists are playing today......
The scales are the same , they bend the notes, just the same , and use the same phrasing......
