I posted Looking for wacky racehorse names viewtopic.php?f=44&t=14719 in the Puzzles & Quizzes subforum hoping for some interesting suggestions but so far only one from Bodger, two from chinatyke, and one from Gloria. Perhaps because that section is not so widely read as this one?

With these and another 33 which I have managed to conjure up, I need another 67 to complete 300 for 60 puzzles but I’ll be happy to receive as many as the members, of which I’m sure there must be many witty ones, can come up with.

Not that I might know, but please make them your own work.

They can be:
Spoonerisms like Cling of Kubs, Neeple Wepoe
Phrases like Uranupstart, Teean Scones
Words spelt backwards like Tunod Ragus, Maerceci
Place names like Mon Treoll, Sin Sin Atti
Homophones like Kamo Fladge,Oxyawneer

But No double-entendres please.

I’d really appreciate your help.

Thanks for the suggestions so far but I'm sure there must be a minefield out there waiting to be cleared. Plase bear in mind that colloquialisms might not be understood by everyone.

I'm not sure why there is a limit of thirteen characters including spaces for this 'game' . The current limit from the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), is eighteen, and this is also the limit in Australia.

Here is the current full list of 159,693 names- racehorse names
Very handy if you can't get to sleep.

My favourite is 'Norfolk Enchants' which has yet to get past the naming committee. :smile:

Thanks for your reply. The mechanisms for compiling the puzzles (not only horse racing but other subjects) only allow thirteen characters. I am aware of the limits for official horse racing.

I don’t know if you had a look at my post viewtopic.php?f=44&t=14719, but I’m looking for wacky names most, or indeed all, of which would not get past the naming committee.
