Hi all
I am Longbolt and happy to be a part of this site. Like you I am interested in the history of my Family and many years ago they were a part of this area (until mid 1700's.) Surnames I am interested in are Ingham, Ingles, Townley and Kirk. Are they familiar to you?
Sincerely Longbolt

Welcome to the site. Where are you based?
We have some good genealogists on here, the more info you give the better you'll get on.

Welcome Longbolt.
Ingham is a certainly a familiar name but more in connection with Colne than Barnoldswick.

Some while ago I talked to one of the last of the Parker / Towneley family up in Briercliffe. (note the difference in spelling Townley..Towneley), I believe Briercliffe is Gloria's old stomping ground. Check this site out. Briercliffe. Best of luck.
Re: Hi from a new member
Hi again from Longbolt
Thanks for the greetings.
At Barnoldswick, my 5x Great Grandfather, Thomas Ingles was born in 1710 (he was a Cooper by Trade) His parents George Ingles & Elling Kirke married there in November 1709. George was from Barrowford according to the details of the marriage entry. Sadly George was buried at Colne in March 1711 so Thomas grew up not knowing him. In 1734, Thomas married Ann Townley at Barnoldswick and life eventually took them to Kirkby Malham.
Thanks for any input,
Sincerely Longbolt
