A computer tip. If you think the mistakes with your PC mouse are because you are getting older, think again. Buy a new mouse like I did yesterday - a basic Logitech wired optical mouse, £8.99 at the Tesco store. Suddenly I'm younger! I can now tell that the old mouse had started doubling the action of a right click with disturbing results. Service at the store was good too. The packaging of PC mice doesn't tell you the length of the cord and I need a 1.5 metre one. The sellers on the web don't tell you either. And the packages are sealed. I took one to the lady in the Tesco Mobile bit of the store and showed her the problem. She agreed that the labelling didn't give the length and she's not supposed to open sealed packs. Then she relented and, with a smile and a conspiratorial look, said `Let's open it, shall we?' She picked at the edge of the seal with little effect. I suggested she let me do it as the state of my fingernails are less important to me than hers are to her. She disagreed and continued until she got it open and stood with her arms outstretched sideways, mouse in one hand and USB connector in the other. `Tara, tara! Is that long enough?', she said. By now other customers were giving us funny looks! But it all ended well and it was a good shopping experience. Thanks Tesco.
(Mrs Tiz told me later that the lass's painted nails would be tougher than mine, so I didn't feel so bad about leaving her to open the seal
