The wind has swung to NW here as well Moh. Chilly this morning with a clear sky and bright sun, wouldn't be surprised if there is a grass frost. Glass has shot up to almost 30.5" so it looks as though we could have a sunny but chilly day.

It is - the heat from the sun is keeping some of the chill factor off. The washing is blowing nicely on the line.

It was 16C and a very cool NE wind this morning, but this afternoon has been glorious. We went to Vannes for a trip out, visited where we wanted to go but couldn't park anywhere in the city and had to come back to our local town for our lunch out, instead of overlooking the port!

Lovely day and very noticeable how much heat there was in the sun in the afternoon. Wind swung round to the SW in the evening and this morning it is dry, warmer with an almost clear sky. The glass is just over 30.3" but showing signs of falling. That figures because a band of wind and rain is expected to work its way down from Scotland today reaching us after dinnertime, there could be some heavy rain. The forecasters tell us we aren't rid of the frosts yet, the next few days could see clear nights and grass frost so cover up any tender plants you have put out too early!

Its been a fabulous day. We have just come in at 8.00pm as the back of the house has moved into the shade. I spent the afternoon knitting and our French neighbours came and joined us for an hour or so for a drink and a chat ( French of course, they don't speak English). Forecast for tomorrow is much the same

Dry day yesterday but the wind started to get up in the evening. Breezy this morning and just about dry, a few spatters of raindrops. Glass has fallen to 29.7", a savage little low is moving through. Windy and showers? Not warm yet.

Walked up to Letcliffe and back for the first time in three months! Hail and rain showers on the way but well worth it. (Lots of liniment on knees when I got back!)
Not cold and an overcast sky this morning. Glass at 29.6". Not raining at the moment but it looks like another showery day.

Moh, they don't vanish, only move down the ;list for a day. Be nice to me.....
We didn't get any of the nasties forecast yesterday but around 18:00 there were some really threatening black clouds but only a light shower came out of them.
Clear sky this morning and bright sunshine as I write. Glass has risen to 30". Wind from the SW and light so it looks like a decent day if the cloud holds off. The Watercress in Valley Gardens is on the move now, it is well above the surface now.

Either I was wrong about the wind yesterday morning or it swung round during the day. By evening it was NE and chilly. Cloudy and mizzle this morning. Glass just below 30" and falling. Doesn't look like sun today!

It wasn't! Glass has dropped to 29.6" this morning, dry at the moment and the overcast is brightening a little. Not going to be a heat wave! Already May is being cited as the coldest for 100 years, it seems that every month so far has broken some sort of record.

Gloomy day yesterday but mostly dry till evening. Drizzling this morning, light breeze and a touch warmer I think. Glass steady on 29.6" so perhaps a re-run of yesterday. Things could be worse but I begin to yearn for some sun and warmer weather. I shall shave my head today to see if this will trigger the change off!

It kept dry and sunny later for the Duck Race in Valley Gardens. Dry and cold this morning, I think there will be a ground-frost. Glass has risen slightly to 29.7". I have shaved my head, that ought to do it! Watch out for warmer weather!
I shall show my age.... As I shaved my head a catch-phrase from the Charlie Chester show came to mind: "What we need is bigger and better bottles of Brylcreem to bash on the bald bonces of the boys" I remember that as a lad I couldn't understand why people with bald heads needed Brylcreem....

Quite a spread in temperature yesterday. It was 7.5 degrees when we went to the Race for Life Event at Boughton Hall yesterday at 9.00am. It was 14 degrees when we came away just before 12.00 and 17.5 by 15.00. A nice day all in all.

Definitely Spring-like in Barlick. Today we are one of the warmest parts of the country with highs in urban areas of 25C possible. Could shaving my head have worked?
Slightly hazy this morning but otherwise clear, light breeze and about 10C at the moment. It will be a heavy dew. Glass risen to almost 29.8". Looks like it could be a shirt sleeve day. About time!
