I've been switching to Youtube to avoid the news Sue, you can pick what you want on there!
I shall be avoiding the wind and rain and after pursuing my carronades will spend the rest of the day looking after myself.

Morning
Lovely and wet today, the perfect day for asbestos garage demolition which is what is happening at Julia’s home in Coventry today. The new garage goes up soon afterwards in a slightly different place so they can have a greenhouse. As Julia says, the rain will keep the dust down. We missed the rain yesterday when doing our 4 mile round trip, to the post office but was very misty, and quite atmospheric as we came back over the moors. It was time for lunch when we got back. I hung my curtains ( at last), wrote my other letters and walked up to the post box at the top of the road to post them. Then it was the Celts. I finished the last assessment and thoroughly enjoyed the whole course. I have two more waiting but can’t decide which to start first, Meteorology or the history and practice of embroidery . I may do them both together initially. I am thankful for these courses as they have kept my mind interested over the last year and filled in times of boredom. I have enjoyed the challenge of learning and researching something I knew next to nothing about, and all year the prices have been kept on special offer which is nice .
Today Bob has u3a zoom photography. This present topic was hobbies so he had plenty of resources without walking miles on the moors looking for strange and unusual objects. I shall tackle my art project which probably take most of the day
So have a good if wet day everyone.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I'll bet you looked at the weather and said the same as I did Sue, forget about exercise outside, we can do without it.
I said yesterday that I could polish the remaining two guns off today as I had the method sorted. Forget it! If anything this one was worse.
But stop whinging Stanley, you have another getting close! (I haven't drilled for the axles yet, that's no problem.)

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
“free” dessert tonight for Febby. I harvested the very last stalks of the Rhubarb growing in the front garden, cooked it and made him a small serve of Custard to accompany it. ( another great crop of Rhubarb this year I must say....it seems quite at home growing in a clump of Iris!). Very healthy crop. I think we are done now, as the weather turns.

A carronade in the shed. I have worked out another improvement, we shall see how that goes!
Apart from that, keeping out of the wind and rain!

Morning
Wild, wet and windy as expected. Nothing much to say really. Yesterday was jigsaw and art all day. Today will be the same. Although I finished my art picture, today I shall try an adaptation of the technique and also have a go at another one. Thats it really, there won’t be any walking, thats certain. I may browse one of my two remaining, unstarted, courses.
Have a good day, stay dry , stay safe if you venture outside

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
We have a break in the weather here Sue, it's stopped raining, the glass is rising very fast and if the forecast works, it won't rain until later this afternoon. So keep an eye on it, a walk might be on the cards.
I've just come in after two hours in the shed, I shall post in Shed Matters and return.....

This was the state of play at closing. All three are fitted to their carriages and are now ready for their wheels and axles. Nice...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I suspect a large part of today will be spent in trying to talk to Pendle Council about my Council Tax, at the moment I'm locked out of my account and can't find a way of getting in.
Making wheels for two carronades, dodging the rain and shopping early doors at Co-op. I'm sure something else will appear. It's a full life!
Forget the shed. I missed. Just got back from the Co-op. No problems, I deserve an easy life!

Morning
Cold and damp but at least the wind has died down. I finished my art in time for todays zoom meeting only to remember last night it is zoom craft today, ah well at least I knew it was zoom something. The class is at 11.00 am , and that is all I have planned. Its forecast rain all day but if it is like yesterday it will be drier than expected.
It could be a concentrated jigsaw day. We shall be glad to see the end of it. Our friend Jean, who lent it to us is coming over for an eye appointment to Rochdale Infirmary on Saturday and said if we had finished it she would collect it and exchange for another . Hope it is easier. Otherwise I am in the middle of assessment one for both the meteorology course and the History of embroidery course. I have sent for some fabric, I feel the need to do some sewing, another bit of clothing I do not need
Have a good day everyone

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
No shopping needed today and I even have my medications from the chemist's so no need to go out in the rain and no excuse not to go into the shed, I need to make eight carronade carriage wheels.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
Another wild, wet, cold, windy day. Yesterday the sun came out again in the afternoon, but it was cold. For lunch we went and bought fish and chips at Whitworth, being our nearest chip shop these days, then took them up on to the moors at Lobden to eat them in the car whilst looking at the view which was amazingly clear considering the weather. Bob said he was taking me out to lunch
. Joking apart it was a nice change as we have been in the house for days.
Our lunch out was not without adventure. Whilst I was sat in the car waiting a problem was unfolding in the car in front. A young mum had left her child in the car whilst she popped in the chip shop. He was strapped in his seat in the front of the car but was near enough the switches and buttons to reach them. He managed to hit the central locking switch, with her keys inside the car . He was only young so she could not get him to understand to hit the right button again, thus she was locked out. Eventually, on my advice, we got her to phone 999, on Bob’s phone and she was referred to the fire brigade who came immediately. We left at that point for our al fresco dining in the car . She was gone when we got back 30 minutes later. It was wild on the moors and apart from one lonely walker in shorts there was no one there. The quietist we have seen it in months .
Its Bacup market this morning, I plan to buy so e carrot and parsnips seeds and some compost as i used all I had filling the wooden planters last weekend. Hopefully we will also finish the jigsaw today. Sadly we missed the deadline for Jean to collect it, what a shame we won’t get the next one in the series now
. I have no plans for the rest of the day. I shall talk to Briony tonight on whats app, she has asked me to make her a dress, so we shall discuss styles and fabric. Yesterday on the weekly whats app cooking session with Eve, she made tea for Briony and herself. She was very competent, making roasted chicken drumsticks with a savoury sauce on top, that she had to compile from the ingredients, oven curly chips and broccoli which she prepared and cooked. The recipe came from one of two adult cookery books she was given for Christmas. She uses one or the other every Friday evening. We are very impressed with her culinary skills. Here is an 11 year old that will not starve.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
Its dry at the moment but rain forecast, so it looks like indoor activities again. I have no plans. We have a Tesco delivery this morning, sometime around 9.00. I intend washing and changing the bedding and doing the ironing and thats it.
Yesterday was cold certainly, and occasionally very wet.Between showers I planted the one plant I bought at the market in the morning. We finished the jigsaw after our second breakfast and Our friends popped up at about 2.00 to pick it up and swap for the one of Rome, which looks much easier. I spent a couple of hours in the afternoon just pottering on my sewing machine and trying out some of the features I haven’t used before. In the evening , after my chat with Briony I ordered the pattern and fabric for her dress, but it looks like it could be next Friday before they come.
I received a nice surprise in the afternoon, a parcel from Coventry. We don’t do Mothers day and never have, except one sad year when my Mum had forgotten who I was. Any way this parcel had a lovely letter from Julia, saying that because we had not seen each other for nearly 9 months, this was a little something. The box was packed with home made goodies, plus special biscuits, a tin of gin and tonic, Chocolate creme eggs, card made by B, and an activity book for made by Eve. I was very touched by the thought.
Well thats it, a day to be planned as it happens I think.

What a surprise, you were posting at the same time as me Sue! Nice thought that parcel. I suppose my equivalent is making things for M&S and keeping them up to date with progress.

This was today's little task, four wheels made for Susan's carronade and a clean up as well, the swarf was getting intimidating! Breakfast now and then second sleep.
