Good evening I’m Michael I’m 37 & I come from Cleckheaton West Yorkshire . Would it be possible to ask for some help , I’m looking for any information about the Pickering family from Blackburn, Lancashire .
Elizabeth Ann Pickering - 18/2/1893 - 25/2/1970 in Blackburn ,
she was married to a John William Chappell 20/4/1894.
One of their old addresses was
40 Wharfedale Rise
West Ardsley
Morley
West Yorkshire.
Elizabeth Ann also had family
William Pickering - 1860 - 1940
Mary Ellen Pickering - 1899
Annie Pickering -1891-1945
Mary A Pickering - 1898- 1956
Thomas Pickering - 1899- 1918
Ada Pickering - 1905
Frank Pickering - 1906-1986
1911 - Barnoldswick, Yorkshire , West Riding .
38 Essex Street .

Morning Michael, welcome to the site. The only Pickerings I have ever come across in Barlick are a Hilda Pickering and an Elsie Pickering (aged 47), weavers, in a LIST OF WORKERS AT BANCROFT SHED ON DECEMBER 5th 1941. See this LINK.

Hi Michael, you can search for free on ancestry.co.uk over this bank holiday weekend, that might be worth a look at the censuses.

I would really love to see what they look like and to see what they did as jobs . I’ve put posts on every Barnoldswick & Blackburn Facebook page , I’ve contacted nearly every Pickering & Marsden going in those areas , my great grandmas mother was a Marsden before marrying into the Pickerings .

I have Marsdens who originated from Stockport and moved to the Nelson and Colne areas.

There is a Raymond Pickering who lives on our street, no idea who his relations are though. He is a tad older than me so in his seventies I reckon.
