Re: OBITUARIES
Sad news. I was just the right age to be a Monkees fan being sweet 16 when they first started.
Re: OBITUARIES
That is sad. The Monkeys were great together.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.

'Pound Shop' Beatles.
The Beatles were organic and free range, The Monkees were factory farmed. The English one was worth an embarassed cringe all on his own.

I read that too. I was also surprised to read that Broughton Hall is still a residence, there's not that many big country houses that are.Wendyf wrote: ↑03 Jan 2022, 16:23 Janet Tempest of Broughton Hall died on Xmas Day.

Re: OBITUARIES
I too didn't realise there were still Tempests at Broughton. They've kept a low profile. I suppose that's how the Norman conquerors survived all these years. Really old money! Look them up on the site index.

Re: OBITUARIES
Sidney Poitier has died aged 94. In the Heat of the Night would be in my best 10 films ever. I've even got the book.

Re: OBITUARIES
Peter Seabrook has died. Must admit I'd nearly forgotten about him, but it reminded me of a time (pre Monty Don ) when the gardening TV was worth watching.

Re: OBITUARIES
These days the first thing I look at in obituaries is how old they are...... You get to the stage where they are mostly younger than you are.... Not a cheerful thought.
