Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
The re-try of the Night Nurse was a good move. I slept for nine hours and am hoping for a better day than yesterday.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
Oh I wish! Not looked at my sleep stats yet but they will be rubbish. Went to bed at 10.30pm, awake at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. Stayed in bed until 6.45am then had to get up as my mouth was so dry I needed a drink. Chucked my tracksuit on and came downstairs, had a pint of water then a couple of paracetamol then a bit of breakfast and a brew. Feel nearly human but dog tired.

Chin up! It'll come Ian. Take Sue's advice, drink lots of water and steam inhalations. It took me a week with a couple of set backs but today I am definitely on the mend. In fact I shall go for a socially distanced walk in the sun.

It does go up and down for quite a while, even after testing negative. But everyone is different. The walk will make you feel a lot better Stanley.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
Most people who I've talked to who have had the virus say how tired and exhausted they have been long after they were negative. The sports centre triathlon nutters who have more electronic measuring gadgets than you can shake a stick at report they are only 80% months after the infection.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
I've had my socially distanced walk and Gloria was quite right, I felt a lot better for the fresh air and sunshine and had twenty minutes sitting on the bench opposite Albert Road watching the passing traffic.
I'm so sorry to hear about your sleep pattern Wendy.... I know everyone is different but that wouldn't do for me.
As I sat on the bench in the sun I reflected that one good thing about getting Covid is you can cross it off your bucket list of worries. I am sure now the jabs work and as far as I can tell I ave survived unscathed. I agree with Kev, I wouldn't wish it on anyone but now it's a case of 'been there and done that'.
I realise I could be wrong and still suffer consequences but I shall take the optimistic view. I must have a good set of antibodies now......

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
Friends of ours on cruise ship tested positive, been taken from their suite to an isolation deck, been there for days, now in Southampton. Isolation deck not allowed to leave ship until all other passengers have left. It sounds like it’s been a nightmare.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
Being ill is always inconvenient but for most people dying is a permanent inconvenience.
I may be a little light hearted with that statement but I know exactly what you mean. Mrs P and myself have avoided it so far but the feeling is that 'everybody' is going to catch it at some time. Some unfortunate people have already had it twice. The writings on the wall.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
I certainly think the figures, and impact, will be similar to flu (not that I'm an expert on these things). I can confidently say I've never had the 'flu', I've had a few bad colds and now covid (potentially the Omicron variant) and hope to continue to not have the 'flu'.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
I've had full blown flu Kev. (Asian flu in I think it was 1958) I was a fit young lad but it was far worse than this bout of Covid. You do right to try to avoid it....
Just after WW2 the modern treatment for flu was made by May and Baker. The saying was that the M&B was worse than the Flu, it had a side effect of making you even more depressed....

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
I concur, regarding flu, you don't want it if you can possibly avoid it, get the jabs when offered. Three weeks of a job at the millennium for both of us, proper poorly. Covid is from the same genus of viruses but certainly the post jab effects of the disease in my experience have some similarities in fatigue and aching limbs but are not in the same league. Glad I didn't get it before the jabs though!
My report, hardly coughing at all now, best night sleep all week, no temperature, less mucus, feeling a lot better Still positive but I reckon at the tail end of the infection.
Sally still testing negative.

"Glad I didn't get it before the jabs though!"
Dead right Ian, I think I just have a snotty head cold now, I'm walking to get fresh air. (Socially distanced of course and not if I am coughing.)

“Snotty head cold”, is a good way of describing it Stanley, that’s pretty much what we have been left with, could be a lot worse.
