Sorry Gloria, no but you are right in suspecting it isn't a normal drill. Look at it very closely.....

Its a three fluted drill which is supposed to be more self centring without the need of a pilot drill. Used for some of the tougher materials . Never seen one being used. Horses for courses as they say.
