Well its sat on a very big hand. The spindle looks like some hexagon drive with a groove that could hold a clip. So guessing its a control knob of an oven or heater.

I remember seeing Alligator Grips, cannot recall what for though ( one was a type of hammered in fixing to join two pieces of wood together adjacently parallel ?)

Well done Wendy, it is a plastic rivet for the heel strap on a pair of Crocs. I had to buy some, several years ago for a repair job, I still have some left.

Apart from my 'standard' wandering about the house Crocs I have these very stylish 'going out' pair
