Today I shall be Mainly...
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
I did my visiting yesterday afternoon and arrived to find that Barry was back home after his recuperation stay in a nursing home. He looked well, in fact better than I have seen him in a very long time. I stayed a couple of hours, did the washing up and made a couple of brews for them and thoroughly enjoyed my chat . My next visit will be next Thursday. There are still another two weeks before Wendy has to stop wearing her sling , but the stitches are out and the physiotherapy seems to be working as her arm mobility increases. Next week I shall take Bob me as I think their front door latch needs attention, it is very loose Indeed. I shall also take a casserole over with me as they seem to be living on bought packet meals and bacon butties
I spent most of the rest of the day battling with Libra office. I watched a very useful you tube video on creating a master document for putting chapters together and I managed to make the document and import some files ( not my actual book , I don’t want to lose what I have already written). However i still have some big loopholes to sort out.
This morning is art at Haslingden, but as yet I have no plans for the afternoon have a good day all

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I do admire your diligence Sue in pursuing the mysteries of Libra Office, I can't ever remember being as dedicated as that!
I shall be doing more watchmaking on the standard for my wobbler. The holes are so small and precise that it could easily take me an hour this morning to drill a pattern of four holes....
I think I shall get my walk in but we'll see. I think mostly it's going to be watching the rain through the window apart from going to the Co-op for early doors shopping at 07:00 rain or not!
(I see the amount of rain has been adjusted in the forecast, it is now only light....

I fear the plans are going awry as I listen to the news detailing just how bad the political situation is. I may not get into the shed....

The nearest I got to the wobbler was to study the drawings to get my next moves on the standard clear in my head. I have done the early doors shopping and put everything away....

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
You are pretty diligent too with your shed work. As it happens I did no work on libra office yesterday. In the afternoon I actually did a little gardening. I have two shrubs that have out grown their pots so I transplanted them into two spots in the garden and I spent a little time setting up my new digital watch. It was evening before I knew it, which I spent browsing the TV.......quite a waste of time but kept me occupied. I put the dishwasher on, the first time since Bob left on Wednesday, and unloaded it before I went to bed. I shall wash my few breakfast things by hand.
This morning I have the hairdressers at 9.45, then its back home for a quick turn around. I shall catch a bus to the station, a train to Manchester and later a train to Coventry. As I am booked on the 2.27 I will have time to get a sandwich some where. The train is due in at 4.30 pm and Ed is picking me up from the station. Bob should be in Coventry for 5.30 so I am going with Ed and B to Bs swimming lesson. Tea will be later all together. Julia and Eve will leave for their weekends swimming straight from work /school so we won’t see them till Sunday evening.
Have a good day all, mines a busy one ......oh yes I must phone the Drs for my blood test result but Monday will do if I forget

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
That solves a puzzle for me Sue. I had it in my head that you would be in the Midlands but then Bob left without you so I decided I was wrong, now I see how you are doing it. I hope it all falls in place for you....
I've just finished my breakfast and I'm off back to bed. I'll be looking in later....

I spent most of the day doing not much, then had a lovely Birthday Tea (for me) with my daughter.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Lovely. Happy birthday . Its always nice to spend time with our kids no matter how old they get. I am really looking forward to my weekend, though its more with son in law and grand daughter but still very enjoyable

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I managed to catch the 10.40 bus to the bus staion from literally right outside our house. Its only once an hour. From the bus station I walked to the railway station and caught the 11.15 York to Manchester express, arriving in Manchester at 11.26 , somewhat earlier than I expected. I had a coffee and browsed the shops whilst walking up to Piccadilly Station. My new watch says I have done 7994 steps . I am sat having a sandwich and an internet browse but rather early for my train. Typical for me, even when Bob and I try to be late for an event we still manage to be early......

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Today I have a lot of cooking to do for the week and the forecast promises us rain, so I doubt if a walk and Bookie Watch will happen. Never mind, the sky will not fall!

The rain is with us. The chicken is in the oven and I am considering going in the shed. The rest of the day will look after itself.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I have no idea of the forecast here in Coventry. B is out doing morning swimming training till 10.00, Ed is off to finish the weeks shopping at Sainsbury, having done Aldi last night. Bob is due at the exhibition by 10.00 so its an early breakfast for us. I shall walk from the hotel to the house and let myself in , and start making the pattern for the belt of the skirt I am going to make with B. We plan on going in to the city centre later as the fabric has not arrived so we can buy some at the market. I believe there is a craft fair as well.
Otherwise its a sewing day today. We are all out for a curry tonight. Have a good day all.

Better than us then Sue....
I shall be aiming for the shed and from the forecast a midday walk and sit is on the cards. Beyond that is in the lap of the Gods.....

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Fiddly work, drill this steam passage out to accept a plug, make the plug an interference fit and install it with Loctite. That took me an hour! I shall leave it to cure overnight and cut it off tomorrow.
Oh, and I also drilled the clearance holes for the 5BA set screws which will bolt the engine to its base eventually.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
It was a good day yesterday. Ed and I picked B up from swimming at 10.00 And went straight in to Coventry to buy the material for her skirt. We spent the rest of the day making it which included making the pattern for it and a wide belt . Towards the end B was getting tired and her seams got a bit wobbly but on the whole she did a really good job and was wearing it by 4.00 pm. Bob arrived back about 4.50 pm. He had a busy day. About 6.30 we took the car back to the hotel then walked up to the Indian restaurant to meet B and Ed there. I have never seen B , indeed any 10 year old consume so much food. She says she loves curries and all the trimmings. We got back to the hotel around 10.00 pm. having walked two miles there and back
I took the opportunity yesterday of using my walking app to calibrate the distance on my watch. It seems I do 4.4 miles to the 10 000 steps, which means both of the last two days just pottering around , walking back and forth to train stations and hotels I have done well over the 4.5 miles each day. I was more than surprised.
Today I shall go up to the house about 9.30 pm. The plan is to go out for a walk at Comb Abbey. I am not sure where that is. I think there is a park and woodlands. Bob should be back about 5.00 and after a meal we will set off home. We probably won’t see Eve and Julia as Eve is swimming in Cambridge and the last session, the finals start at 5.00 pm. It depends if she or the other swimmers she has gone with make a final during the day.
Have a good day all

I've had my walk and a sit on security duty at the end of Albert Road with a Scotch Egg for company. The sun is not as warm as previously but still quite pleasant. Back home now in the warm.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
The Design Committee have worked overnight and come up with a solution for a small problem facing me with the wobbler. I shall make a tool to solve it this morning when I go in the shed. The forecast gives sun so a sit looks to be on the cards after I have been to the chemist's for my meds.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
I know and it doesn't seem right because it isn’t. But both the foot path app and the watch have me walking the distance that equates with what i believe the distances to be. I do stride out when walking but not 30 inches. Yesterday I apparently did over 5 miles, but we did go for a walk in the afternoon 3 plus miles and I did walk up to the house, nearly a mile in the morning, but I do not believe I do as much as it indicates about the house. I suspect it is the watch that is wrong and not the footpath app. I can always recalibrate on another walk.
We got back home about 11,00 pm, a good drive up apart from torrential rain in Coventry. Julia and Eve arrived home just before we left, time for a quick hug and some medal displaying. I have woken with a sore throat and sniffles which I believe to be Bs cold but otherwise all is well. I have pilates this morning. This afternoon I shall do some cooking to take a meal or two around to Wendy and Barry. Barry was rushed into hospital yesterday with a suspect DVT but the news last night was he was going back home and treatment will be at outpatients . I am worried as I am sure Wendy and Nic are too.
So thats it today, plus a bit of washing to do. Have a good day all
