Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Yesterday afternoon stayed gloomy but around teatime the temperature started to rise. At 20:00 it was a lot warmer and first thing this morning it was even warmer, a light breeze, overcast and wet after recent rain. The glass has fallen like a stone to below 995mb and is still falling. The forecast is for a spell of rain any time now, a cloudy morning and more rain from midday onwards. The constant SW wind is brisk gusting to over 45mph giving a high of 13C and a low of 6C with a wind chill of up to -4C. The outlook is for slightly cooler weather but still in high single figures. It seems the weather gods are giving us some respite from winter.

Yesterday eventually became dry and at 20:00 it was calm, mild, dry and overcast. It' was the same this morning first thing and I have just looked out and there is no change. The glass is up slightly from yesterday's low of 992mb and is steady on 995mb. The forecast is for a clear sunny day clouding in this evening. The constant SW wind is moderate gusting to 30mph and giving a high of 7C a low of 4C tonight and a wind chill of as much as -5C at times so wrap up warm even though it's sunny. The outlook is for similar weather but perhaps rain later in the week.

I've been for a walk into Town Square and a ten minute sit on traffic duty. I was right this morning when I reported a strong wind chill, it may be 8C in the sun but we have a -4C wind chill and it's bitter! Still, I am glad I have had a walk.....

Yesterday afternoon ended dry but cold with that brisk wind. At 20;00 the wind was dropping and we had an overcast sky. First thing this morning stars were visible but there were signs of a recent shower. Since then it has started raining again. The glass is up a bit on just over 997mb and steady. The forecast is for the rain to cease by 07:00 and for the rest of the day to be dry, bright overcast with sunny intervals. The constant SW wind will be brisk gusting to 35 mph just like yesterday. The high will be 7C and the low tonight 4C with as much as a -5C wind chill especially early this morning. The outlook is for similar weather with heavy rain Friday and Saturday so you can forget about a white Xmas in these parts!

The wind chill yesterday was bitter and spoilt the effect of the dry bright weather. At 20:00 it was breezy and cold under an almost clear sky. Same this morning, a few stars visible but I suspect it's actually mainly overcast. the glass is down slightly on 997mb. The forecast is for light rain later this morning clearing to overcast this afternoon. The SW wind becomes light giving a high of 6C and a low of 3C tonight. The wind chill is -4C this morning but will ease this afternoon. We still need to wrap up warm! The outlook is for heavy rain tomorrow, broken cloud sunny intervals and showers on Xmas Day and then coming in colder as we head towards the New Year.

I've had me walk and (to my surprise) a twenty minute sit in comfort supervising traffic. It was quite pleasant actually because I was out of the wind. The only down side is that it starting raining lightly so I came home where they put ugly folk. :biggrin2:

Yesterday we had occasional light rain in the afternoon and at 20:00 it was calm, dry and overcast. Same this morning. The glass is up slightly on 1000mb and rising. The forecast is for heavy rain starting around 11:00 and lasting until early on Saturday morning. The East wind is constant and moderate giving us a high of 5C, a low of 4C and a chill of -4C. Things could be worse! At least I have a dry weekly shop this morning. The outlook is for two days of dry overcast weather and then perhaps some cold rain to refresh us after Xmas. :biggrin2:

Yesterday we had a wet afternoon and at 20:00 we had a light breeze and rain. The glass is down slightly on 999mb but rising. First thing this morning it was almost calm and we had light cold rain, it hasn't changed since. The forecast is for the rain to cease shortly and we are promised a day of sunny intervals until this evening when rain comes in again. The constant Southerly wind is moderate and gives a high of 7C and a low of 6C with a -4C wind chill at times. The outlook is for mixed weather with heavy rain promised on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Yesterday afternoon we saw2 a light shower and by 20:00 it was light rain. Same this morning but it may have sopped now. The glass is steady on 999mb. The forecast is for light showers at any time amid broken cloud. This means some sunny spells... The constant SSW wind is moderate gusting to 30mph and giving us a high of 8C and a low of 1C with up to -4C chill. Tomorrow will be a cooler drier day but then from Tuesday onwards, milder like today but with rain forecast.

Yesterday afternoon the forecast was accurate, we had sunny spells and light showers. At 20:00 it wasn't raining but it was overcast and threatening. This morning first thing we had evidence of a recent shower but it was cold and dry under a clear sky. It's still dry but now we have a light breeze and an overcast sky, still cold. The glass is up on 1002mb and rising. The forecast is for sunny spells but from late morning onwards accompanied by light showers. The constant SW wind is moderate, becomes brisk and gusts to almost 35mph later giving a high of 4C and a low of 1C tonight with a -5C wind chill for much of the day so wrap up warm if you have to be out in it. The outlook is for warmer weather but with heavy rain for much of the week.

Yesterday we had the light showers and sunny intervals as the day wore on. At 20:00 we had a light breeze and a recent light shower. This morning first thing it was the same but the sky was almost clear, just some scattered thin cloud. It was cold and it hasn't changed since. The glass has jumped up to 1015mb. The forecast is for heavy rain all day starting at 08:00 but before that a yellow warning of possible ice underfoot. The southerly wind is brisk and gusts to over 35mph giving a high of 7C and a low of 4C with as much as -5C wind chill. The outlook is for milder weather but a lot of rain.

Yesterday afternoon was wet and windy. By 20:00 the rain had stopped and the sky cleared. This morning it's the same, a light breeze and an almost clear sky, just a thin veil of patchy cloud. The glass is down on 999mb. The forecast is a re-run of yesterday, heavy rain all day. The constant south winds are brisk and gust to over 40mph at times giving a high of 9C, a low of 5C and a wind chill of -5C at times later. The outlook is for similar broken weather, wet for the next three days.... So wet weather for the rest of 2022. Deep Joy!

Yesterday was wet cold and windy. At 20:00 we had a breeze and an overcast sky but it wasn't actually raining. It's the same this morning and the glass is still down on 980mb. The forecast is for rain all day. The constant WSW wind is brisk and gusts to 45mph giving a high of 6C and a low of 3C with as much as -6C wind chill at times. The outlook is for two more days of heavy rain and relatively mild and than cooler dryer weather as we enter 2023.
Later at 04:45. The glass is rising strongly and the forecast has proved correct. It's raining....

Yesterday afternoon was mainly dry but some spatters of rain on the wind. At 20:00 we had a light breeze and an overcast sky but it was dry. This morning we had a brisk wind, overcast and still dry. The glass rose to over 990mb but has now dropped back to 987mb. The forecast is for rain during the morning. The constant southerly wind is strong and gusts to almost 50mph at times. The high is 9C, the low is 5C and the wind chill can be as high as -6 at times. Deep Joy! The outlook is for another mild day tomorrow but then the temperature will drop. Heavy rain on Tuesday?

Yesterday stayed dry apart from the odd spatter. At 20:00 it was still windy and we had gloomy overcast but no rain. The rain band came in during the night and this morning we have very little wind but significant and continuous rain. The glass is steady on 987mb. The forecast is heavy rain until midday and then heavy overcast until the rain comes in again as it gets dark. The constant southerly wind is light and gives us a high of 7C and a low of 5C with a maximum wind chill of -3C this morning. The outlook is for another day of rain tomorrow, cold, dry and bright on Monday and then warmer (into double figures!) and wet for the rest of the week.
