Ah.... the wartime rissole! I remember it well David and it concealed a variety of meats or fish mixed with left over veggies and fried like potato cakes. I think part of the thinking was that whatever went into them, it didn't matter how old it was as long as the resulting cakes were charred on the outside!
I had chicken and veggies of course. Potatoes are too high carb for me to have anything but a few baby potatoes scattered throughout the week for filling.

Scotch egg and veggies for breakfast and lunch. Tea was two Sea Bream fillets cooked in foil in the oven with veggies.

I had straight veggies for breakfast and tea. Lunch was a full Xmas dinner with the kids as everyone was away at Xmas. We even had prawn cocktail.... very 1960s!

Chicken and veggies as usual. I'm on the last of it today and might even give myself a forbidden treat for tea if they have one of those very good pizzas on offer in the Co-op!

I'm trying some chicken thighs cooked in the Halogen with veggies. You and Kev have worn me down.

I went to Tesco as I was out of onions. They are now sold individually for 17 p each, and if you want a plastic bag to carry them - that will be 30p thanks. It's reusable though, and you will 'save the planet' .

Am I expected to believe that this nonsense will change the weather? I doubt it.

Dropped into Tesco in Padiham this evening, picked up a few 'Clubcard' bargains but when I got to the till I couldn't log into the app to access my 'digital' Clubcard. Tesco wifi is a bit pants, needless to say I left the bargains on the till and left with just 3 sachets of sugar free custard powder. I've got home and can connect to the Tesco app with no issue. I've ordered a new plastic clubcard, I had to give a reason why I wanted a plastic card, I tried to be constructive...

Selling onions individually at 17p each..... Are they all exactly the same size? Modern grocery retailing gets more and more complicated.
No surprises Chez Graham. Chicken and veggies X three and 4 minutes high setting in the microwave for each piping hot meal.... :biggrin2:

I made a spam, sausage, bean, onion, chilli and tomato stir type thing last night, I chucked some peas in it to balance out the red :extrawink: It was very tasty, I kept a portion back which I have just had for my dinner today, two portions into the freezer. Butchers today so I will keep back a chicken breast and probably have that with pasta for my tea today.

Went to 23 The Grill for a 'bunless' chicken tikka burger with a side salad and coleslaw. Washed it down with a sugar free coke and a cup of coffee.

The last of the chicken and veggies X three apart from one helping for breakfast this morning. It's shopping day today and I shall be veggie cooking this morning. No forbidden treats as I am still basking in the positive feedback after my full MOT blood test.....

Chicken and veggies X three and then I went off piste with a 'treat'. A white teacake with mackerel filling. I suffered immediate Karma and it served me right. One of these days I will learn common sense...... (Mind you, it tasted wonderful!)
