I've just got up after second sleep and we have about an inch of snow. I was wondering this morning why it wasn't on the hymn sheet. Bugger going for a walk in this..... I'll get my exercise by doing some housework!

Yesterday it was dreadful underfoot bas I found out when I went out. Not today thank you. At 20:00 it was calm, clear, dry and freezing hard. Same this morning, we are on about -6C at the moment. The glass is unchanged on 983mb. The forecast is for a bright cold day. The constant westerly wind is light and gives us a high of 1C and a low of -1 tonight but with a wind chill of up to -5C. The outlook is for another three days of this but starting to warm slightly from Friday onwards.
07:00. Very light snow is falling.....

Yesterday was bright and sunny but the ice underfoot survived wherever it was in the shade. At 20:00 it was calm and we had a frost under a clear sky but with some odd patches of cloud forming. First thing this morning it was the same and there was evidence of a light fall of snow during the night. The glass is nailed down on 983mb still but showing a tendency to rise. Today, like yesterday, will be bright and sunny but be below freezing all day if the wind chill is taken into account. The constant WNW wind will be moderate giving a high of 3C and a low of -2C tonight with a -5C wind chill. The outlook is for a gradual warming up over the next week starting today.
Later at 05:00. The glass is rising quite quickly. This is a good sign and could presage the end of this cold spell faster than forecast.

Yesterday was bright and sunny but cold, at 20:00 it was calm cold and clear with a frost. This morning it is the same but with the addition of a light dusting of snow. The glass started to rise yesterday and this morning is well up on 999mb. The forecast is for a bright day but until noon we have a yellow warning of possible ice and snow. The westerly wind is moderate and gives us a high of 2C and a low of -1C with up to -6C chill. The outlook continues to be for a gradual warm-up.

Yesterday stayed cold and at 08:00 it was cold and clear, still cold. This morning it is still cold and clear but slightly warmer. The temperature is improved as 4C but -3C later tonight and will have a wind chill of -3C at times. The NW wind will be cold but the glass is rising and is on 1010mb, a definite improvement. The outlook is for the days to become warmer and over the next few days.

Yesterday was again cold all day despite there being good sun in the afternoon. At 20:00 it was calm and cold and we had a clear sky. Same this morning, I have just had a look and I can still see stars but have an idea we now have a thin overcast. The glass is up again on 1027mb. The forecast is for mostly clear wether but some scattered cloud this afternoon. The constant SE wind is light and gives us a high of 3C and a low of -2C tonight with a -3C wind chill later. No thaw today, that comes tomorrow and the outlook is for a frost free week with temperatures soaring to 7C on Wednesday!

Can’t complain. If I want to do anything in the garden, I will have to start early, but other than that all will be well.

The rain due on Saturday is only 1mm, so no excitement there.
Visibility is 13km.
Nights are much more comfortable. 😊🌼

Yesterday afternoon stayed bright and dry but a hard frost. At 20:00 it was calm, clear and cold. This morning it's the same and our back street is still carpeted with packed snow and ice. The glass has held its own during the night and is on 1023mb. The forecast is for it to cloud over soon and remain cloudy all day. The Southerly winds will be light and give us a high of 3C and a low of 2C tonight. The wind chill is -4C at the moment giving us an effective temperature of -6C but this will rapidly warm to a thaw around noon and only -2C chill this afternoon. We may finally see the back of the shot ice! The outlook for the next six days is for cloudy dry weather, warmer and frost free even at night.
