Ken, I find I am an involuntary pedant. When you said "Mrs P wants a new three piece suit." I got this mental image of her in the full Monty but then realised you actually meant a 'suite'. Sorry Ken, I have done too much reading.

After the service it was pointed out it read 'God, She was Thin' Asked to correct the missing 'e'. It came back.

I found this near to that picture - which for some reason made me laugh out loud. . . .

"I was at a hospital once and they served me half a chicken, gravy and mash. I asked for the vegetarian option and the woman took the chicken off my plate."

The last time I was in hospital I asked for the diabetic diet and they brought me mashed potatoes and gravy.......

I am listening to the accounts of Sunak re-arranging the deck chairs. None of the things he is doing will have any effect in practical terms on the ills of the day.
Like the workers desperate for a decent wage!

I think this is the best looking car I ever saw. I had one as a Dinky Car a long time ago. Perhaps that's why.

I had a very pleasant sit at the end of Albert Road on traffic duty. There was real warmth in the sun but one peculiarity was that while we were enjoying the benefit of the sun we also got a very light shower of rain. The raindrops were like jewels falling out of the sky.

Lancashire Police press conference - Senior Investigating Officer words to the effect -

"her personal vulnerabilities put her in the high risk category"

The press will be in a frenzy over this. . . .

I heard that he had said that and wondered why we have this modern syndrome where the police feel they have to keep us up to date with everything that's going on. That was one bit of information that would have improved with storage!
Ask yourself if we needed to know that. The answer is no!

Nicola Bulley. My experience of swimming is that mature ladies cannot sink. They will naturally float and clothing although a hinderance adds to flotation. This does not mean women can't drown which is obvious that they can. Unless she set her stall out to add weights to take her to the bottom she would have floated downstream almost immediately. This adds to Ian's question why they, the experts, didn't look downstream as soon as the alert was given.

In my early youth I did a lot of Lifesaving competitions but unfortunately I was one of a very few men who was a natural sinker. OK for a demo party piece but no good for the compulsory swimming requirement.

Having heard more specific information about the lady's problems I am even more strongly of the opinion the police should have kept quiet. It seems to me they were trying to excuse themselves for lack of progress by making out that whatever did happen to her was her fault......
