What a struggle getting the statue back to Colne. We had to borrow a passport from a Mr Griffin. H G Wells, invisible man, Wrap a manikin's head in bandages and say he had suffered extensive burns.

And if you believe that you'll believe anything. :biggrin2:

Not yet I haven't. I've seen the image before somewhere but can't remember where. I'm not even sure if the 'glass bottom' boat was part of the write up or part of my perverted twisted mind. But since like all other OG members I'm pure in mind and spirit it must be the write up. :laugh5:

Sorry for the accusation Ken. The lake is an artificial lake so I assumed you knew something I didn't.

I Googled it last night and saw that it had been part of a newspaper article some years ago. Still don't remember it though. I'll leave it there for someone else to have fun with. Whoops, what have I said. :laugh5:

That's nice - I've just been for a nice trip up the River Elbe - as far as Gorleben courtesy of Google maps.

I've mentioned "The Gorleben Incident" before so won't repeat it - but found it fascinating considering that the crux of the matter was whether the East West grenze / border was in mid Elbe or on the East bank as 'we' insisted it was.

Clearly marked as being in the middle of the Elbe. Border

Perfidious Albion yet again. . .

Funnily enough, that isn't a million miles from the truth. The rocks have had behaviours attributed to them that would more properly belong to ginger root.... :biggrin2:

Known in Romania as “Trovants” the stones of Costesti, Romania are a type of sandstone concretion that secrete cement and can at times appear to grow as if alive.

Consisting of a stone core with an outer shell of sand, after a heavy rain small forms are said to appear on the rocks leading them to be dubbed the “growing stones” by locals.

Looks like an old large scale wall map made by glueing smaller sheets together.
