Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we had late sun but once more the east wind kept the temperature down. At 20:00 it was sunny and we had a light breeze. This morning we still had that east wind but the sky was clear. The glass is down on 1015mb and the forecast is for sun all day. We still have a constant moderate east wind all day. The high will be 25C and the low tonight 12C with up to a -3C wind chill. The 6 day outlook is for full sun and similar temperatures.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday the sun was strong and persistent enough to take the edge off the -3C wind chill. At 20:00 we had full sun and a clear sky. First thing this morning we had a light breeze and 100% overcast. It is still overcast. The glass is down a bit on 1013mb and the forecast is for a lot of sun but also rain showers and possible thunderstorms this evening. The constant easterly winds are light and give us a high of 27C and a low of 16C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for more thunder rain tomorrow but otherwise similar temperatures and sun all week.

Nice weather Cathy. Here we could have a mixed bag today, a very good chance of heavy rain and thunder....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
It was boiling hot yesterday in the sun. Last night it clouded over but we were on the edge of the rain and missed it.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday the forecast was correct. At 17:00 we got two hours of thunder showers. At 20:00 it was fair again, calm but broken cloud. This morning it's calm, mild and light cloud. The glass has crept up slightly to 1014mb. The forecast is for full sun until 16:00 when we can expect thunder showers again. The light easterly wind gives us a high of 28C and a low of 16C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook continues to be for hot sunny weather.

No thunder showers forecast for Foulridge today, the rain yesterday did a good job cleaning the bird poop off the gazebo roof

We could do with a proper 'wetting' but it looks to be avoiding the area.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I agree Kev. I said as much to Mick yesterday about the thunder shower on Sunday but he said they had plenty in Earby, Water Street was flooded.
Yesterday was very warm and we had none of the forecast thunder at teatime. At 20:00 it was still warm but cloudy and I thought it could have rained but it didn't. This morning it's warm calm and we have broken cloud. The glass is up a touch on 1015mb. The forecast is simple, full sun all day. The easterly winds are moderate and we have a high of 26C and a low tonight of 12C with a -3C wind chill all day. The 6 day outlook is for similar weather but gradually getting less sunny and cooling slightly. We could be seeing the end of the heat wave. No signs of rain. As I said earlier, we are going to start to hear mutterings about drought shortly.
Later at 05:00. The sky has cleared and low sun is coming in already. Calm, cool and very pleasant out there!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I was thinking about duvet covers but couldn't be arsed.....
Yesterday was hot and dry and at 20:00 we still had full sun. Not as hot last night which was a blessing. First thing this morning it was cool and clear. The glass is up on 1017mb and the forecast is for full sun all day. The constant east wind is light then moderate from 10:00 onwards giving us a high of 23C and a low of 11C tonight with a wind chill of -4C for most of the day and at times -5C. The outlook is for similar weather but gradually getting more cloudy.

We swapped from the duvet to a single sheet and one of Sally's cotton quilts weeks ago. Even that is tad warm with the present temperatures. I tend to sleep on the top most nights at the moment.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was sunny all day and the wind chill was very welcome! At 20:00 we still had full sun. First thing this morning it was cool and we had scattered cloud but still visible stars. No change yet and the forecast is for full sun all day with perhaps some overcast coming in this evening. The glass is up on 1019mb. The east wind is constant, light to moderate and we have a high of 24C and a low of 12C tonight with up to -3C wind chill. The six day outlook is for dry weather, slightly less sun and cooler but still summer weather.

It’s going to be another hot one although there is a bit of fresh air about. No rain for weeks, shouldn’t complain, but we are British, so we do

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
You're right Gloria, there will be mutterings about drought soon.....
Yesterday was a rerun of the day before, at 20:00 we had full sun. This morning we have broken cloud but plenty of clear sky and stars. The glass hasn't moved from 1019MB. The forecast is for full sun all day and possibly cloud coming in this evening. (Although they said that yesterday but it never happened.) The wind is mainly light and SE giving us a high of 23C and a low of 13C with a -3 wind chill at times which will be refreshing. The six day outlook is for lower temperatures and the possibility of rain showers but nothing serious.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Full marks for 'petrichor' Kev. I thought I knew what it was but had to check to make sure. We shall get it today I think.
Yesterday we had light spatters of rain in the late afternoon. First thing this morning it was raining and we still have heavy rain and a suggestion of thunder. The glass has fallen below 1010mb and the forecast is for a cloudy day with frequent heavy showers, there is a yellow warning of thunder for later today and this evening. The light to moderate easterly winds are constant and give us a high of 21C and a low of 13C tonight with negligible wind chill. The six day outlook is for similar weather to today but less thunder.
05:00. It's stopped raining....
