Haribo Goldbears Gummi Candy, 5 Pound Bag

See you in hell, Haribo Sugar-Free Gummi Bears
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 5, 2015
Flavor Name: Goldbears
It was my last class of the semester, and the final exam was worth 30% of our grade.
After a late night study session I felt confident, but I had to decide between sleeping in or cooking breakfast. My eyelids chose sleep.
My stomach later regretted this decision, and after several uncomfortable stomach growls, I finally decided to make a quick stop by the campus bookstore and grab a snack before my test. Since the semester was ending and everyone was going home for the summer, a lot of items were on sale, including the snacks and candy that they kept up front. Being in the hungry state that I was in, it felt only logical to pick the largest, yet least expensive candy in order to get more bang for my buck.
And there they sat: two bags of Haribo Sugar-Free Gummi Bears, buy one get one free.
"What a deal!" I thought naïvely. I would eat one bag before my test, and one bag afterwards.
As I walked to class, I gleefully chewed on those abominable little bastards, unaware of the utter mayhem that they would soon unleash upon my poor, poor anus.
I sat down at my desk as the professor informed us that, due to issues with cheating in the past, restroom breaks would be prohibited until the completion of the exam.
"I'll give you 10 minutes to use the restroom now; this will be your last chance. Any takers?"
The demon bears hadn't released their unholy necromancy upon my stomach yet, so in my moment of ignorant foolishness, I remained seated, still munching on those miniature bear-shaped bombs.
After the students wise enough to take the professor's offer had returned, the professor handed out the test. I was six questions in when it happened.
It started subtly at first, almost like a slight tingly sensation in my lower abdomen. I thought nothing of it, assuming my intestines were just doing their thang. Little did I know that my intestines were trying desperately to warn me of the horror that was on the horizon.
By question 9 it happened again, but this time it was followed by a sharp pain, as if those infernal hellions had orchestrated an attack upon my colon. I fought to contain the groan that tried escaping my lips. It was at this point I began to panic; something was going horribly long, and I needed to get through this test before it got any worse.
By question 14 my worst fear was upon me; the Satan bears' burning, hot, liquidy dark magic crashed against my anal sphincter like a tidal wave. I was able to close the hatch just in time, but those relentless, toxic bears beat against it like Orcs breaking down the doors of Helm's Deep. I knew I wouldn't be able to so much as shift in my seat without risking a breach.
I kept fighting through my exam, clenching my cheeks with all my might. Beads of sweat began rolling down my neck. Suddenly, a loud, gurgling war cry came from my belly, and the entire class lifted their heads.
At this point, nothing mattered except expelling this ungodly presence from my bowels. With 15 questions left, I promptly wrote C for every answer and ran out of the classroom. My professor yelled something, but I was too preoccupied with the volcanic eruption that needed to take place before I could find sweet, sweet relief.
I burst into the restroom like the Kool-Aid man and, behold, the handicap stall was empty. Sun rays from the adjacent window shone upon it, as if it were a gift from God himself. It took me less than .5 seconds to undo my belt buckle, pull down my pants, and finally relax my weary buttocks upon the toilet seat.
It took absolutely no effort to expel this demon. Almost immediately, the floodgates of hell were opened and the damned, liquified souls of an entire bag's worth of gummi bears cried as they burned through my sphincter and into the watery abyss below. I had never felt such simultaneous relief and anguish in my life.
After 30 more minutes of this, I immediately went home, dug a hole in my backyard, and burned the remaining bag of gummi bears.
I leave with this; do not, I repeat do NOT eat these spawns of Satan. Not only did they cause me to fail my final test, but the anguish I experienced is something I wouldn't wish upon anyone, not even my worst enemy. The only place these god forsaken hell bears belong are buried deep below the Earth's surface.

More than 1,000 migrants have crossed the English Channel in three days, the Home Office says.

Rumour has it that the people smugglers have been asked to run Northern Rail.

I suspect that I was in company with many others when my jaw dropped yesterday on hearing exPM Cameron say that his government's austerity policies didn't reduce the capacity of the health and social services to cope with the pandemic. Watching his dead pan rejection of simple logic reminded me painfully of how bad he was as Prime Minister. All it needed was for George Osborne to pop up and support him to complete the illusion I was in a time warp. The same twisted explanation we get now from Hunt and Sunak, we need sound money to afford these services and austerity is the only way to achieve this. The same mistake the Tories made in 1920 and triggered the disaster of the inter-war years. ARGHHHHH!!! Beam me up Scotty.

Question....What's the least severe pandemic that won't impact on the NHS that we have just cut back.
Answer.... Well flu is more or less endemic. We already have vaccines. People who catch it tend to go to bed and stop at home. No need for lockdowns.

Cameron..... Good we will have one of those. Any other business?

I read today Off on his holibobs

Assuming it's all true - almost beyond comment.

PS Fawkes says
2,159 migrants were detected crossing the Channel in the week from the 12th – 18th of June. That’s more than in any month of 2023 so far. This brings the total crossings in June so far (only until the 19th) to 2,908.

Since the Government is doing nothing meaningful to stop this traffic except talk about it all, it must be inevitably be concluded that it is their policy . That's fine - immigrants are a wholly good thing. We are a wealthy country and should encourage it. The more the merrier. It can only be to our benefit.

Looks like the Titanic sub is lost. Remote diving subs have identified debris around the Titanic site as parts from the sub. The air supply ran out six hours ago but the loss could well have been 3-4 days ago when they reached depth. Not good but not unexpected either.

Coast Guard officials said during a news conference that debris found during the search for the vessel was “consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel”.

OceanGate, the vessel's operator, said its pilot and chief executive Stockton Rush, along with passengers Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet “have sadly been lost”.

This from 'Titanic director and submersible expert' James Cameron answers a lot of questions, and I'd say has the elusive 'ring of truth' about it.

James Cameron

There has been a lot of misinformation about in he last few days - doubtless because the accoustic listening devices are 'top secret' and the miltary don't want anyone to get more knowledge of their location or their capability. It's also a dream news story and column filler. for the press. The lawyers in America will inevitably be gearing up and licking their lips.

It also occurs to me that there is no correlation between being mega mega rich and being just moderately clever (smart). In fact quite the opposite. Perhaps they got rich by taking risks?

Now- back to Ascot. . .

I agree with you about James Cameron David. I heard him and Ballard being interviewed and was impressed by the fact they had refused to do any speculative interviews. Would that others had observed the same decorum and good manners!

Interesting developments in Russia, the Wagner mercenaries aren't happy with the Russian military and appear to be revolting. Either that or they've had a better offer from Ukraine...

Russia is in turmoil. Putin has resorted to hiring mercenaries to fill the gaps in his disastrous invasion of Ukraine. Various separatist groups are taking advantage and grabbing a bit of Russia for themselves. A rerun of Crimea.

Something very odd about the Russian situation. A 'rebel' force sets off from Rostov na Donu for Moscow - (It's 600 miles !) then without any apparent resistance, changes its mind and goes into exile. All in less than a day.

I note also that the Litvinenko saga in huge detail, has been on ITV for several consecutive nights at peak time - then on Friday when the dramtisation had ended there was a documentary on the same subject. Talk about 'raising awareness' on steroids.

It's not such a big surprise as it appears. Putin had recently decreed that all mercenary groups would now be absorbed into the official Russian military and take their orders from the present generals. The Wagner leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, hates those generals, blames the poor progress in Ukraine on them and has been `calling for their heads'. American security knew by the middle of last week that the Wagner boss was going to move against Putin and the Russian military.

Prigozhin may continue his many military ventures from Belarus. He has thousands of men at war in other countries around the world - the head of some Central African states depend on his men for security, and he has armies in Syria, North African countries and elsewhere.

Things are definitely changing

Rear Admiral Chris Parry has just said on GB News - "Putin is finished - he's just a puppet now".

Did he really flee in the presidential jet to St Petersburg yesterday?

See THIS report from the Trussell Trust.
One in seven people in the UK faced hunger in the last year due to a lack of money, new research has suggested, with ethnic minorities, disabled people and carers among those more likely to be affected. The Trussell Trust said its survey results in the middle of last year equated to an estimated 11.3 million people – more than double Scotland’s population. The findings were described by the charity – which runs more than 1,200 food bank centres across its network covering around two thirds of the food banks in the UK – as “just the tip of the iceberg”.
'Food banks are not the answer when people are going without the essentials in one of the richest economies in the world. We need a social security system which provides protection and the dignity for people to cover their own essentials, such as food and bills'. Emma Revie, Trussell Trust.
The organisation found that while around 7% of the UK population was supported by charitable food support in the year to mid-2022, 71% of people facing food insecurity said they had not yet accessed any form of such support.

This report is a matter of shame for the government of what is said to be the fifth largest economy in the world. It denotes absolute failure to attend to the basic needs of the population.

Today is the start of Eid-Al-Adha. Political leaders in Parliament at PMQ's wished everyone "Eid Mubarak".

It's commemorates what is similar to the Christian Bible story about Abraham and the 'sacrifice' of his son.

"According to the Hebrew Bible, God commands Abraham (Ibrahim) to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. After Isaac is bound to an altar, a messenger from God stops Abraham before the sacrifice finishes, saying "now I know you fear God". Abraham looks up and sees a ram and sacrifices it instead of Isaac."

It is taken more literally in Islam as far as I can see, and the slaughter of the Ram (or sheep or goat or. . . .) actually takes place. Not much mention of it in the media though. Is it carried out in UK? I hope not.

Put me down as confused. Why does any God need sacrifices? People believe in God to satisfy that void of unknown answers that theologians have been debating since Adam was a lad. To request sacrifices implies a level of cruelty to God that surely can't be right.
