I'm fairly sure of the reason but it makes no sense to make chocolate products in one of the hottest places on the planet! Apparently its the fragility of the new offerings, the ice cream vendors don't like them as the majority are busted in the boxes before they actually open them.

Re: QUOTE OF THE DAY. TRIPPS ORIGINAL
"Health Secretary Steve Barclay has admitted not all the 40 new hospitals promised for England by 2030 will be brand new. He told the BBC the pledge covered a "range" of building work. Refurbishments and new wings are also included in the figure. Mr Barclay also acknowledged that some of the hospitals originally promised would now be completed after 2030 but a total of 40 projects would still be finished by that date. Pressed over whether a refurbishment could be considered a "new" hospital, Mr Barclay told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg programme: "If it's a new wing, a new facility, a women's and children hospital for example as part of a wider compass... what matters to you as a patient is whether the facilities are state of the art, whether they're new."
Another Tory 'pledge' officially bites the dust. I don't think any of us will be very surprised.

Re: QUOTE OF THE DAY. TRIPPS ORIGINAL
Going through my data base of clippings and found this. Having binged on intellectuals Howard Jacobson, Clive James and Germaine Greer et al last night, it seems appropriate to mention. I am currently conflicted regarding my understanding of things in general. This has reassured me a little, and improved my mood.
The whole problem of intellectual "mid-wittery" is summed up in the following quote attributed to Aldous Huxley -
“The course of every intellectual, if he pursues his journey long and unflinchingly enough, ends in the obvious, from which the non-intellectuals have never stirred.”

I think that's the first time I have ever understood anything Huxley has said. I agree with him and have always operated on the bleeding obvious level...... I call it logical but am probably wrong.....

Princess Eugenie gives birth to baby boy named 'Ernest George Ronnie'. He will be another son, and a brother for 'August Philip Hawke'.
The newest member of the royal family, who will be known by his title Master Brooksbank, is 13th in line to the throne, and in an effort to level down will move the Duke of Edinburgh ( not sure who he is at the moment) down to 14th place.
Also James Mountbatten - Windsor, Earl of Wessex is now two places below an oik called 'Ernie'. I can't get Benny Hill's "the fastest milkman in the West" out of my mind.

We have spent £Billions leaving the common market and turning our backs on Europe and yet our royalty is promoting Kraut names like Mountbatten (Battenberg) . What was wrong with House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha? rolls of the tongue nice and easy.

"Cllr Tom Whipp added: "We are not against development of the site in general, it is a brownfield site; but they just need to build on the bit that doesn't flood. Even if the houses were raised on stilts (in that part), the house owners would need a canoe to get to work."

Re: QUOTE OF THE DAY. TRIPPS ORIGINAL
Thats the former Barnsey Mill site. Not content with the 150 or whatever houses on the mill footprint the developers want to add another 100 or more on the green field beyond which is a natural flood plain. The Local Plan no longer calls for that many houses anyway. Of course there are no plans to enhance local infrastructure such as schools, doctors, health centre etc.

Silly me! I thought that the capacity of the local infrastructure to carry the increased burden would be mandatory in deciding on approval.

Intrigued, I found the article. It became clear then that this was over five years, last year it was £12.7million but still too much. I agree totally with this statement;-
Alp Mehmet, Chairman of Migrationwatch UK, said: "How absurd. Vile criminals are able to use every legal device to game the system and thwart removal only for the courts to find in their favour and fine the government, i.e. the taxpayer, for failing to throw them out. Have we gone completely mad?'

From the writings Dr Thomas Sowell -and my own recent personal experience.
"It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

As usual I've been reading lots of stuff on the Interweb thingy today.
With no particular target in mind - there's lots to choose from - this came to mind.
"I wish I was as sure about anything as they are about everything "
PS Actually it was Neil Oliver the Coast man.

I know the feeling David. In a similar vein I always have this at the back of my mind:-
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

One way of looking at the situation -
If something is REALLY harmful, you don't carry on doing it.
If someone says it's OK to carry on doing it if you pay me £12.50,
It is NOT REALLY harmful but a way of raising money.
