It's one of the air pumps at Ellenroad whilst I was unsuccessfully trying to lift the delivery plate to get at the rubber valves on the air pump bucket underneath. Sorry, that was far to obscure!
Try this one, it's an oldie.

Wrong type of clothing - too casual?

Perhaps an auction, or a registry office wedding when the bride's side didn't turn up. :smile:

PS just noticed the cross -so some kind of church service?

Ian is right, it's my Carleton Collage students in 2000. the guide picked up that I had guarded the prisoners in Spandau Gaol and said that as far as he knew it was the first time anyone had been there who had done that service.....
Now we need another one....

I can remember having milk at Rainhall Road School, and waiting for it to defrost on the radiators ( obviously not these ones).
These milk tops are a Mystery to me.
What about you?

Silver – full-fat milk;
Red – semi-skimmed;
Blue – skimmed;
Gold – Jersey & Guernsey milk
I think the one with the metal cap (top right) was sterilised, no idea on the blue and silver stripe. Stanley may be best placed for this as he did a bit of 'dairy' :good:

A methylated spirits burner?
Or a bit of old teaching apparatus for demonstrating a vacuum? Boil a little water in the flask then upturn it and put the end of the tube in water and you get a fountain inside the flask as the steam inside condenses and causes a vacuum.
