Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It's purpose is to allow the barge-drawing horse to move to the other side of the canal without having to be disconnected from the barge. But I don't know what it's called!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You are right about the use, it has a special name, and where is it?

Think I’m going to have to give you both that. It’s the Snake Bridge in Macclesfield.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
We have one after the bottom lock at Greenberfield, towpath changes banks at the bridge but you would have to uncouple the horse if that was your means of power. Locally known as the turnover bridge.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
So we have! Thanks Ian for reminding me. It's a long time since I walked down there but yes you are perfectly correct!

I think you might know what this is but where is it?

The inside of a violin, guitar or similar instrument?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Well done Tizer, it is indeed the Inside a 250 year old French Violin Photographed with a Medical Laparoscope adapted to a Lumix G9ii Camera.
The interior of a 1770 violin by Augustin Chappuy.
Was it the f-holes that gave it away?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It must have been a fiddle getting the Laparoscope into the violin....
