Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
The rain has been lashing against our windows for what seems like hours! Hopefully the winds have peaked now, the pressure has risen slightly.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I thought about you and Col Wendy. We are lucky down here, sheltered by the Weets and the surrounding houses. Even so, it rattled our windows all day and into the night.
Yesterday the pressure fell to 976mb but started rising in the evening. We had wind and rain all day, it never let up. This morning we still have a breeze but the sky is clear and it's dry. Thee pressure is up on 996mb and rising. The forecast is for heavy rain to start at around 10:00 and for it to persist into the early hours of tomorrow morning. There was a yellow warning for rain but while I have been writing this it has been withdrawn.... The southerly winds are falling to light/moderate giving a high of 8C and a low of 5C tonight with up to a -4C wind chill this afternoon. The 6 day outlook is for similar weather to today, warming slightly as the week goes on and with less rain.

Our howling wind seems to have dropped, still raining a bit. A great improvement on last night.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Good Wendy. I hope there are no ill effects.....
Yesterday afternoon settled into significant rain again after an ineffectual attempt to become dry. At 20:00 it was windy and we had significant rain. This morning everything is wet but the sky has cleared and it's not raining now. The glass fell to 984mb yesterday but this morning has risen to 990mb and rising. The forecast is for it to be cloudy but dry, at the moment it's clear. The westerly wind starts moderate but gradually falls to very light by this evening and then moves into the SE. This gives us a high of 7C and a low of 3C tonight with at most, a -2C wind chill. The forecast for the outlook is confusing, it looks very similar to today but had yellow warnings for rain for Tuesday and Wednesday but these have now vanished.

The forecast was good, It is overcast but dry with only a light breeze. I have just got back from veggie shopping in the Town Square and all the shopping is put away and ready for a big cook in tomorrow. The chicken to roast from 06;00 on and the veggies to cook after second sleep. It's all go!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon managed to stay dry, just! Until 20:00 when we had light rain. This morning we have a breeze and heavy rain The glass has risen to 996mb but is now falling. The forecast is for the rain to stop shortly and for us to have fog and heavy overcast all day. The constant east winds will swing into the north this afternoon and we shall have a high of 7C and a low of 4C tonight with a wind chill of -3C tonight with the northerly winds. The outlook is for it to be cooler and dry tomorrow and then get warmer for the rest of the week with very little rain...

All cooking done, hob clean and pans put away. I shall have a quiet read now, I deserve it....
Susan is in Harrogate and says that they still have the fog there.... Here in Barlick it is dull and quiet but not raining...... (or foggy!)

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday the forecast kept talking about fog when what we actually got was rain. It bated for a while but at 20:00 when I went to bed it had started raining again. This morning we have a light breeze and it is dry but still overcast. The glass is steady on 995mb and the forecast is for a dry but overcast day. The northerly winds will be moderate tending to de3crease as the day goes on. The high will be 5C and the low tonight -1C with as much as a -4C wind chill this morning when the wind is strongest. The outlook is for warmer weather, overcast but dry.....We could be up to double figures by the end of the week.....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
The forecast was correct yesterday and it stayed dry but that wind cut right through you! At 20:00 when I went to bed it was clear and dry and it stayed like that all night. This morning first thing it was calm clear and dry but since then we have got light rain, forecast to last until mid-morning. The glass has risen to 1012mb and is tending to fall. The forecast is for the light rain to cease by 09:00 and after a bit of fog, the weather will clear to sunny intervals for the rest of the day. The light westerly wind is constant and gives us a high of 7C and a low of 5C tonight. We can expect a wind chill of -3C for much of the day. The outlook for the next six days is for overcast but warmer weather with occasional light rain.

It was fine also here Stanley yesterday, but the wind wasn’t biting. We’ve had rain during the night, and it’s dull and mizzling now.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I wrapped up really well and even enjoyed a sit on the bench at the end of Albert Road While I inhaled a festive panini fro Mandy's Barlic Bites.
Yesterday the mizzle stopped for a while but never really went away, it lingered occasionally all afternoon. At 20:00 it was calm, overcast and dry. It was the same first thing this morning and hasn't changed since. The glass is well up on 1025mb. The forecast is for a dry but overcast day. The constant WSW wind is moderate and gives us a high of 8C and a low of 8C tonight with as much as a -4C wind chill during the day. The six day outlook is for three days of semi-tropical double figures temperatures and then cooling slightly. No significant rain in the forecast.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday stuck to the forecast, the afternoon was dry but dull and that was a cold wind.... (Mind you, I begin to think that all winds are cold, perhaps a sign of age?) At 20:00 it was calmer and dry but still overcast. First thing this morning it was windy and we had light rain, we still have the wind and the cloud but it is not raining at the moment. The glass is steady on 1029mb. The forecast is very simple.... overcast. The SW wind is brisk and at the moment is gusting to 40mph but will gradually ease during the day. The high will be 10C and the low tonight 8C with a -4C wind chill at the moment but settling to -3C all day. The six day outlook is for very similar weather.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
I like 'cloud robe'
Yesterday was dry but overcast and cold. At 20:00 we still had a breeze and the sky was clear. This morning first thing it was windy, dry and we had a clear sky. It is partly clouded now but still windy and dry. The glass is down a touch on 1027mb. The forecast is for an overcast day but dry until late tonight when we can expect significant rain. The SW wind will be constant and brisk, gusting to 35mph later. This gives us a high of 10C and a low of 9C tonight with up to -4C wind chill during the day. The six day outlook is for similar weather, nothing to frighten the horses and no White Xmas either!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Again, yesterday was dry but with a cold breeze and the semi tropical temperature was tempered by the wind chill. At 20:00 it was overcast but still dry. First thing this morning we had a breeze and light rain, it hasn't changed since. The glass is down on 1021mb. The forecast says the rain will stop shortly for a couple of hours but then resume at about 09:00, in effect rain all day. The constant SW wind will be brisk and gust to over 30mph giving us a high of 11C and a low of 6C tonight with a steady -3C wind chill all day. The six day outlook is for slightly cooler weather and some rain but still slightly warmer than the seasonal norm.
