Reading an article on religion, beliefs and pieties by A.N. Wilson (as one does) I enjoyed his reference back to Tony Hancock: Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?

Morning Stanley! Enjoy Boxing Day. I hadn't seen your post although I was still logged in because I had to go and sort out how to work our air purifier. Mrs Tiz has washing partly dried but brought in and hung over an airer. I reckon it would dry more quickly if I angled the air purifier at it to waft a gentle breeze and keep the air moving. But we bought the purifier ages ago and I couldn't remember how to work it - like so many things these days it's not so simple unless you've already got it working. To get different speeds and functions you have to press the top the appropriate number of times. It's not a touch screen so I kept pressing repeatedly but nothing happened. Eventually I found it had to be a very gentle press!

The reason we got the purifier is that our house in town seems to get a lot more dust than did the one we had in the Somerset Levels. Yet we are on the west, upwind side and there are no obvious sources of dust.

Paulette was all for it when I said I wanted a tattoo, she's not stopped complaining about the bagpipers in the back yard ever since.

Peter.... I'd say that our air in Barlick is cleaner than most.... That may be simply because it's colder!
