Olivia's 40th birthday party at Barlick Football Club last night. It had a Mexican theme although we didn't dress up for this one. Must be getting old, I didn't recognise about 95% of what the DJ was playing until Sally asked for some Motown. A bit later they swapped to Karaoke and I was contemplating doing "El Paso" as my contribution to the Mexico theme, I couldnt find a suitable "wicked Felina" who was up for it though. As it turned out some other "friends" signed us both up to do "Islands in the Stream", not done that one for a while, it came out all right when we got the mikes.
Victory Park to meet the Barnoldswick Town Under 9's boys and girls footballers and coaches. Big cheque presentation time for the £1000.00 they raised for Bosom Friends by a sponsored walk up Pendle Hill. We gave them all badges and a certificate for their club house wall. Fantastic effort for Bosom's and very much appreciated.
They had just finished their game on the lower field against Barrowford Juniors who were just a bit older and managed to snatch the win. All good fun and credit to the coaches who run a diverse training and competitive league. Well attended by parents and other supporters.
Whitby for the week, Friday to Friday with the three grandchildren. We were in one of the Georgian 4 story town houses on The Crescent on the West Cliff. Third floor for us, three bedrooms, nice lounge looking out over The Crescent, kitchen and bathroom. WEather was kind all week with a couple of really warm days, all the others still warm enough for just shorts and a T shirt, Rained once for an hour through the night. Good time was had by all. Delivered the Isla and Finlay directly back to Silsden as they are off onto the Llyn Peninsular tomorrow with their mum and dad.
See What Attracted also for what attracted today of course on the journey home!
Victoria Hall in Keighley for my donation. A bit of trouble getting it going today but once adjusted, my donation was done in the usual 9 minutes or so. I had a Mint Club and a small packet of Shrewsbury biscuits at the refreshment table. Three biscuits in the pack, fairly sure there were only two the last time I selected them, if so, winner! Search is on now for my next venue to donate.

Paulette left booking until the last minute and got one at Burnley Fire station last week.
The Yorkshire Clinic, t'other side of Bingley. Took Sally for an MRI scan on her knee. Private hospital but they have slots available on their scanner. Airedale referred her as they could not fit her in.
Family meal out last night at Efendy Turkish restaurant in Skipton. Kick off event for Sally's 70th birthday which is on Monday. Good time was had by all.
Yesterday would also have been Sally's dad Tommy's 100th birthday, we raised a glass to Tommy and our Dan, both missing from the event.
A continuation for Sally's Birthday. Everyman Cinema in Clitheroe for the afternoon matinee of "Lee" the story of Lee Miller depicted by Kate Winslet. Lee of course was the former Vogue model turned photographer who became a war correspondent and photographer following after the allied Normandy landings, Liberation of Paris and on into Germany in 1945. She photographed the Nazi extermination camps and famously had a bath in in Hitler's apartment as she found it had hot water. This photograph shows her boots wiped and left on the fuhrers bath mat as she took her bath. It was taken by her war correspondent friend. The film is to be recommended.
After the cinema we walked round to the Emporium and had a late lunch. Sally had Courgette fritters and salad, I had a BLT with side salad, we got a serving of triple cooked chips to share.
