A trip to Trawden Show today. Hoping the rain holds off.
Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
A trip to the annual Breton Festival at Lizio, I too hope the rain holds off but it is nice to be cooler this morning. Its been 33C for 3-4 days. It was so hot yesterday I stayed indoors and washed curtains, bedspreads and cushions. That will do for another year. Bob varnished the wood surround on 5 roof lights.

Wendy, good antidote to Olympics. They had a dry day!
Only one out of the ordinary matter today, firing a letter off to the CEO of the Co-operative Group in Manchester about the deathly hush following my complaints about the dearth of Condor Green in the local store. Customer service? Playing in the shed will calm me down......

Another trip to the library I think? Depends on the other half and hes still in bed, don't know how he's sleeping though as our neighbours are having a new roof and the tiles are being stripped as we speak and thrown into a skip. Eileen

Visit to Hay on Wye for a browse round the bookshops then depending on the weather Hereford Cathedral for a look at the chained library and the Mappa Munday. Nolic

Has anyone re-opened the smallest pub in England? I saw it when the old lady was still alive and kicking in about 2000.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
As I remember, about half way down the main street with the entrance to it down some steps from the side road. I think it was called the Three Tuns and any of the locals will be able to tell you, she was famous. Died about four years ago? Looked it up. 4 Broad Street.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Today it is raining. We have 3 guests for lunch plus Bobs cousin who is staying with us, Roast home grown potatoes. Homegroen chard and home grown leeks in mustard sauce. I have had to buy the carrots as our crop failed. Forstarters we have lardon salad with own grown lettuce and cucumber ( tomatoes are also a failed crop)
For afters summer pudding made with brioche, and last years home grown blackberries and this years raspberries, accompanied by creme fraiche. Must go, first guest arrived

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Damn.
Teleport not working.
Possibly overloaded with chocolates, flowers, several bottles of wine, deck chair, sun umbrella, sun glasses, sun hat, plastic wine glass, own plate and cutlery.
Hoping to make it by the time dessert is served.
Shall I bring ice-cream? Honestly, it is no problem....

Delivering leaflets for the disability forum campaign about access to the shops in the town.
Judging all of them on 5 different criteria, and then hopefully the results will be collated and advertised
Ran out before I could do the shops on Gisburn Road and Skipton Road, have to await replenishment

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Given that a fair proporion of access to Barnoldswick is on slopes that defy any able bodied person , the results of the survey are just a little less meaningful.
My favourite shop in Colne is on the second floor of a converted office building ,it could do with a lift fitted ( the six steps up to the front door as well I find a struggle sometimes ). And the access from the reasonable side street car parking is a walk back up a 1 in 8 hill.

Today I will be recovering from over indulgence last night. Don't mean drink! Late night but never sleep any longer in the morning so I will have a snooze this afternoon hopefully outside on the sun lounger. Eileen
