It started here at about 05:00 and is still raining but the forecast assures us it will stop in about an hour and then stay dry all day.

I couldn't walk four miles to save my life! Sun or no sun!
Yesterday afternoon was overcast until late on when it brightened up a bit before dark and dusk didn't come early! This morning we have heavy overcast and light rain. The glass is down on 1006mb and the forecast is for the rain to persist until early afternoon when we will move into dry overcast. The mainly moderate becoming light westerly winds will back into the north in the late morning and we can expect a high of 8C and a low of 1C tonight with a -3C wind chill for much of the day. The outlook is for two more relatively bright days and then it will warm up a bit and slip back into overcast.
(Although they forecast a bright day for today and it hasn't happened.....)

You're gardener looks pleased!
Yesterday the light rain never really stopped. I saw no sunny intervals as promised and it was dark early. This morning it's calm, cool and the overcast is set to break so that with the dawn at 08:00 we will have sunny spells and that will be the picture all day. All I can say is I'll believe it when I see it! Th glass is up on 1019mb. The mainly southerly winds are light and give us a high of 6C and a low of 1C tonight with a wind chill that will reach -3C later in the day. The outlook is for similar weather, perhaps slightly warmer for the next couple of days but with rain on Thursday. After that overcast and slightly cooler at the seasonal norm. Nothing exciting and that's a good thing in December!

Yesterday morning we went out for a walk, got a mile from home and it threw it down, for about 15mins, we got soaked, back home for hot chocolate. Today, there has been a frost, but the sun is up and it has the makings of a good day.

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry but heavily overcast. It brightened a little later in the afternoon but not a lot. This morning is calm and clear and I think we can expect a frost. The glass is steady on 1019mb and the forecast is for a dry sunny day until late afternoon when we can expect heavy rain. The mainly southerly winds will be light until this afternoon when they strengthen to moderate or even brisk as the gusts climb to almost 40mph. Tomorrow is going to be a very mild wet day with the rain continuing all night and into the morning, returning in the late afternoon. After that the weather gets colder and settles down a little.

Cathy, yesterday I cooled my freshly cooked veggies before putting them in the fridge by putting them on the bench outside.
I think that says it all about any comparison!

Yesterday was overcast with us, we never saw the promised sun but the forecast was accurate in that it started raining heavily at just after 15:00. It has rained all night and first thing this morning it was wet, windy and cold, it hasn't changed since.... The glass has fallen to 1002mb (and is still falling) We have a yellow weather warning for wind. We are promised a respite, it will stop raining shortly and it will stay dry until noon when the rain will return. The constant WSW wind is strong and will gust to 50mph later. The high will be 11C and the low tonight 4C. The wind chill will be -5C when the wind is strongest. The outlook is for brighter colder weather but this wind stays with us until at least Monday.

Still overcast, but I have been for my walk to the Post Office.... always something that requires attention! It's cold in that wind but as long as you are well wrapped up all is well. Not a morning for sitting on traffic duty though! :biggrin2:

Yesterday it stopped raining at about 16:00 and we had clear skies all night. The wind dropped during the night making way for Storm Darragh which we are informed is advancing on us. This morning it is breezy, clear and cold and the glass has risen to 1005mb. We have yellow warnings for wind today and the forecast is for a sunny morning until noon, overcast coming in and then the wind rises again as it starts raining after 15:00. The wind this morning is westerly and gusts to 30mph. This afternoon it becomes SE and gusts to almost 45mph. We can expect a high of 7C and a low tonight of 5C. We have a wind chill of -4C now and this afternoon it will increase to -5C. The consequence is that in both cases it will feel like freezing. God help anyone who has to sleep rough.....
Later at 06:00. The wind has risen noticeably..... Be careful if you have to be out there....

We had some very heavy rain yesterday causing flooding in various parts around us. It stopped just after tea, but we had some strong gusts of wind in the night, this morning it is all quiet again.
