I agree with Gloria! They should have shown a bit of consideration for you..... Good news in the end but I can only imagine what a relief it would be to see him eventually. Try to relax today!

Almost a day off! All I wanted to do this morning was to dismantle the castings and get them ready for painting. So that's what we have here and painting is a job best done in daylight..... So That's it, less than half an hour and now I want my breakfast!

Morning

As I understand it Bob asked them to tell me what was happening and the nurse who spoke to me at 6.40 pm said they had done so. Well I don’t who they spoke to but it certainly wasn’t me. Anyway forget and move on now I think.

Lunch was a very nice affair yesterday with a repeat performance today in another pub with my u3 a art group . This will be the last of the meals out this week . I have tried to eat sensibly but today is roast turkey and the trimmings. It will probably be nearly 3 when we get back.

Its due to be a dry morning with increasing chances of rain this afternoon. Dawn this morning is rather striking over the Oldham hills. Have a good day all

I have a few different pairs from the same company, they used to be based in Skelmersdale. I've had a pair of black brogue shoes for at least 12 years, they've been resoled and heeled a few times.

You sound like me and my boots Kev. I had a pair soled and heeled a week or two ago. It cost £40, It cost £14 to buy them over 40 years ago..... :biggrin2:
I shall be in the shed at 06:00. looking at painting my castings. I hate the job and don't be surprised if I chicken out and wait for some fine weather so I can do it outside on the welding bench an a dry day!
Carl delivered my meat last night and I immediately cut up the belly pork and put it in the slow cooker with tinned tomatoes and spices to cook on low all night. This morning as soon as I got up I lifted the gravy off the meat and put the two bowls in the freezer to separate the fat. I may deal with that instead of going in the shed!
Needless to say I shall not be going out today. If the wind causes a power outage I shall retreat to my bed!
Deep and unalloyed Joy! :biggrin2:

I've finished the final adjustments to the pork belly. It's had the gravy replaced minus fat and I have added a root of Garlic and a large onion chopped up fine.....
I have also made the decision to ditch the shed for this morning, I can't face painting! I'll take a view later.....

Morning

It’s a dark, dark morning this morning with rain due all day. Not much happening, a trip to Bacup market, then to B&M to get bird food. This afternoon I may sew, this evening is a zoom u3a wine group meeting. The topic is wine food pairing for Christmas.

Have a good day all

I am still recoiling from painting but can't stay out of the shed so I shall go in this morning and do useful things connected with the engine that don't involve painting.....
As for later.... I can't see me being tempted out for a walk because even if it stays dry that wind is going to be biting! A -5C wind chill isn't on my bucket list.....
So I shall find ways to look after myself and stay warm as usual.....

I wasn't going to ditch the shed again. I am still recoiling from painting but there are other matters to attend to. I went through my parts and sorted all the non-ferocious bits that can be machined. For today I concentrated on the steam valve. I ended the day with it dimensionally correct and square and ready for the steam passage to be milled in the base and the driver bar fitted on top. Now for breakfast!

This morning I marked the valve for the exhaust passage and the slot for the driver bar. I then machined both of them, fitted the driver bar and marked it to preserve orientation. I then drilled the clearance hole through the valve for the valve rod. Then I put my 1/4" cutter away and re-fitted the larger cutter on the VM. That will do for this morning... I have earned my breakfast!

Morning

No time for sewing yesterday. I did all the present wrapping ans a bit of my history presentation, then cooked a roast chicken dinner, watched Strictly then fell asleep on the settee. I was in bed reading just after 10.00.

This morning is French at Haslingden, then this afternoon I am popping over to see Maxine, tea time is zoom yoga. I think the wind has died down quite a bit so it should be safe driving over Owd Betts. Have a good day all

Wonderful how a new kettle can improve my life experience.... :biggrin2:
I shall be in the shed for an hour's occupational therapy and beyond that nothing is pressing in on my social calendar.
We are promised a dry day. If that turns out to be true I shall make an application of weedkiller to my paths in the front garden where my wild garden has broken out of its bounds.

Morning

Its Tuesday, normally a bank day but the train did not run in the park so no money to bank. We will still go to Rochdale as usual as I have food to take to the food bank. We missed the ´Santà collection last Wednesday due to all the timing issues at Christies, so will drop it off this morning, hence it will be a car trip.

I need to go to the optician for the finer adjustment of my glasses. Last week my lenses were changed as the varifocal lenses needed a slightly different range. This week the lenses will need securing now I have tried the new positions and am happy with the vision. We will do a bit of shopping after, have a coffee and drive back. Its Christies this afternoon for a CT scan. I doubt we will be back in time for pilates and yoga. Have a good day all

I shall be in the shed at 06:00 and if the weather forecast proves to be correct and we have a dry day I shall go into town and try to find some gloss black paint in spray cans...... I went to paint castings yesterday but had run out of paint.
I'm considering sweeping up out at the front and dosing the paths with washing soda......
