The Ash tree with 'die back' is coming down as we speak.

I've just been out to offer a cup of tea, but they are well organised, and have their own portable tea swindle.

He said "this the tricky bit". I think we are in good hands.

I asked the AI site ChatGPT "What do you know of a website called oneguyfrombarlick ?

Their instant reply was -

"OneGuyFromBarlick is a community website dedicated to Barnoldswick, a town in West Craven, England. The site serves as a hub for discussions on local history, genealogy, and various hobbies. It features forums where members can engage in conversations about current affairs, share old photographs, and participate in quizzes. Additionally, the site hosts an archive from its earlier version, preserving numerous postings and images related to the town's heritage.

The website also includes the Lancashire Textile Project 2013, a unique archive of transcribed interviews with operatives from the textile industry, accompanied by over 850 images. This project offers valuable insights into the region's industrial past.

Overall, OneGuyFromBarlick serves as a valuable resource for individuals interested in the history and community of Barnoldswick and its surrounding areas."

I'm very pleased to see that AI response for OG. And it's better than AI's present mistakes in the news for putting out false stories credited to the BBC!

My parents had that album on vinyl :good:

Spotted a jewellery box online over Christmas, one of my granddaughters loves books (and jewellery) so we ventured out to the antiques centre that was advertising it. It's only at Queen's Mill in Burnley.
There's no age to it but it fits her interests perfectly :good:

A correction, it's actually King's Mill.

I had forgotten to mention that we had a very large, very impressive and no doubt expensive firework display starting at 19:00 last night.
I am assuming this was intended for New Year but postponed because of the bad weather. It was impressive!

I did it! Yaye 🎉 👏 😊. Only 2 pieces not filled in, not bad for a $2 buy from a local Op. Shop.
.
I now have The Beatles Yellow Submarine jigsaw to do. Also $2. It looks to be much easier.
I’m very pleased with myself.😊

Well done Cathy, I'll have to look out for that one.

I wonder if any of you book searchers might find me a UK based copy of a book called Beaded Bubbles by Molly Berkeley published in 1967. Molly was an American artist and socialite who married the last Earl of Berkeley in the 1920s. I borrowed it from the library many years ago before I worked at Berkeley Castle and I have a fancy to read it again! There are copies available from abroad but the postage is very costly.

This looks similar - but they are all in the USA and postage with insurance is expensive.

Careful - the one on Abe is in Italian.

Molly Berkeley

Maybe wait a while and look on eBay from time to time, or if the madness is fully upon you - just grit your teeth, get Col squared off, and pay it.

I think SCG uses Bookfinder.

Have a look at THIS one. David is right, £32 on Bookfinder Australia. It's the first English edition so apart from the cost it will be OK! Go for it Wendy, you'll never regret it.

one is more likely to approve a response if it is correct, or a matter of balanced opinion with inference based on avalible verifiable information.
