A seal yes Ian, but not for sealing wax. Clue.... my mother used it in the course of her domestic duties. It had a specific use. Another clue. LG was the initial of the name my father used.

Sorry but no. I shall knock it on the head because it's not very interesting.... It was a stamp that was part of a kit containing Indelible ink and it was for putting initials on handkerchiefs.
I can't imagine it ever getting used!
