Yesterday afternoon stayed bright but cold. We had clear skies and a frost overnight. This morning the glass is up on an astonishing 1040mb, the highest value I have ever seen! The forecast is for a clear day with full sun. The east winds will be light and we can expect a high of 6C and a low of 0C tonight with a wind chill of up to -3C. The outlook is for similar weather but cooler.... More like February!
Later at 05:00. As usual I checked our glass against the forecast and it is expected to rise to a high of 1045mb in Wales.... So we can trust my reading!

Wendy that is a lovely photo, it looks like a lake.

Yesterday was bright, sunny, dry and cold until late afternoon when we got a bit of light overcast. This cleared during the night and I woke this morning at 02:00 to see a bright moon setting in the west. This morning we have broken overcast but it's dry and frosty. The glass is down on 1037mb and tending to fall. The forecast is for a dry day with bright overcast and sunny spells. The constant NE wind is brisk and gusts to 40mph giving us a high of 5C and a low of 1C tonight with a significant wind chill all day of as much as -6C this afternoon. The perceived temperature will be below freezing all day. The outlook is for similar temperatures to today, dry but overcast and less sun.

Yesterday afternoon was bright and sunny but Boy! was that wind cold! We had reverted to overcast by nightfall and that's what greeted me this morning, 100% overcast and a light breeze but dry with it. The glass has dropped to 1019mb and the forecast is for a dry but totally overcast day. The constant ENE wind will be moderate and we can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of 3C with a maximum -4C chill around dinnertime. No sign of sun for the next six days, just similar temperatures and heavy overcast. I suppose things could be worse....

We are enjoying a short break from too high temps at the moment. 😊
It’s still a bit warm for doing too much in the garden, but I had to this morning, after strong overnight winds blew over my container rose.
First time ever, very strange. It meant risking my back to get it back up, and a lot of sweeping.

That's a coincidence Cathy. Susan and Margaret report strong winds at Busselton this morning..... :laugh5:
Here's our weather....
Yesterday afternoon the overcast occasionally had a light spatter of rain and by 16:30 this had developed into light rain which seems to have lasted all night because everything is damp and we still have light rain this morning with a breeze to accompany it. The glass has risen to 1025mb and the forecast is simple.... heavy overcast all day. The constant ENE wind will be moderate and gust to almost 35mph giving us a high of 6C and a low tonight of 2C with a wind chill of up to -5C this afternoon. The 6 day outlook is for almost identical weather to today, no surprises. We mustn't complain, this is kind weather for February, it could be much worse!

Yesterday afternoon's overcast again deteriorated into very light rain and after an overcast night, this morning we have a gusty breeze, overcast and light rain. The glass is up on 1030mb and the forecast is for heavy overcast and rain all day. We are going to have a brisk ENE wind all day gusting to over 35mph. This allows us a high of 3C and a low of 1C with a -6C wind chill for most of the day. The perceived temperature will be a steady -3C all day. We are promised the same temperatures and overcast for the next six days but mercifully it could be dry.....

Yesterday afternoon was windy cold and wet until about 16:00 when it stopped raining but was still windy and cold. It seems to have been overcast but dry during the night and this morning it's breezy and overcast but no sign of the sleety showers the Met Office seems to think we have. The glass has dropped to 1020mb and the forecast is the same as yesterday, heavy overcast and rain all day until late this afternoon. The constant moderate ENE wind gusts to almost 30mph and we can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of 2C with a -5C wind chill for most of the day. This means the perceived temperature will be below freezing all day. The 6 day outlook is for similar weather, no surprises. I think we can agree it's cold and Crumblies like me are better off indoors!

Yesterday stayed dry, contrary to the forecast, until 15:00 when we got light spatters of rain. It was overcast overnight and this morning first thing we had a breeze and light rain. The breeze has dropped since but we still have the light rain. The glass is slightly down on 1019mb and the forecast is for a dry but heavily overcast day. The constant ENE wind is moderate and we can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of -1C with a wind chill of -4C for much of the day. Another day where the perceived temperature is below freezing all day. The outlook suggests it could be brighter for the next couple of days and then back to heavy overcast. The temperatures are very similar.

That would be unsupportable for us Cathy, we simply couldn't stand it. Our gloomy northern weather with wind chill taking us below freezing is depressing but healthy!

Yesterday afternoon stayed gloomy and we had a spatter of rain at 16:00. This morning it's dry but overcast, no sign of the full Snow Moon. The glass is up slightly on 1022mb and the forecast is for a dry but overcast day, surprise surprise! The constant moderate east wind allows us a high of 3C and a low tonight of -2C with up to a -5 wind chill. You've guessed it, it will feel like well below freezing all day. The outlook is for similar temperatures and staying dry.

Yesterday afternoon was a rerun of the day before except that the overcast at dusk was broken cloud. This morning we had a breeze, broken cloud overcast and it was dry, it is still the same. The glass is steady on 1022mb and the forecast is for a brighter dry day with sunny intervals. The constant ESE wind will be moderate and we can expect a high of 3C and a low tonight of 0C with a wind chill of -5C for most of the day. The consequence is a perceived temperature of -5C for much of the day. Too cold for old men! The lookout is for similar weather, it could be a lot worse but it's still winter!

Yesterday was another re-run. The blocking high over Europe is holding back the Atlantic systems. The only change yesterday was that it was again a touch brighter and there was daylight after 17:00. We had a dry and overcast night and this morning we have a light breeze and overcast blocking out the full moon. The south easterly light winds prevail for much of the day but settle in the east from mid-afternoon onwards. We can expect a high of 3C and a low tonight of 1C with up to -4C wind chill during the day. The result is that it will always feel like below freezing so wrap up warm if you are going out..... The six day outlook is dry and similar to today for the next three days but from Wednesday onwards there is a sharp rise in temperature well into double figures! Don't cast a clout, it won't last!

Yesterday afrenoon the overcast deteriorated after about 15:00 as it almost got round to rain but not quite, just damp. enough to wet the flags but no more. It seems to have been like that all night and this morning first thing we had a light breeze, overcast and damp. It has improved slightly since as it isn't damping now but it's still overcast and cold. The glass is steady on 1017mb. The constant ESE wind will be moderate all day and allows us a high of 3C and a low tonight of -1C with a wind chill of up to -5C for much of the day And that's right, it will always feel like below freezing point so wrap up warm if you have to be out there! The outlook is for another day similar t5o today tomorrow and then it starts to brighten up and by Wednesday will be sub tropical! We are promised up to 13C.....
