Looking for information about Barnes family of 20 Essex Street Barlick - built by Samuel Shaw?

Morning Barnes.... (Do you have a forename?) I have only one entry in the index....
(Craven Herald 15/07/1932. Reporting on the flood of Monday 12th of July. Houses in Butts were flooded many feet deep. A man called Ernest Widdup was trapped in a low-lying stable, be3ing unable to open the door because of the force of the water. Had it not been for the prompt action of Mr Sidney Barnes who struggled through the flood and wrenched the door open, he must have lost his life. William Duxbury carried him to safety. ....
With hindsight we know that Widdup died a few days later from the effects of his misadventure. We also know that it was William Duxbury's son Harold that carried the man to safety, the reporter made a mistake. Harold tells the story in his account of the flood in his evidence to the Lancashire Textile Project also on the site.

I had a quick look for 20 Essex Street on Find My Past last night.
In 1901 Samuel Shaw was living there with his family, he is a labourer. 1911 Samuel Shaw is still there but his son in law John Barnes and family are also there.
There is an article in the local paper in 1962 about a 12 year old John Barnes rescuing injured birds.

Norman Barnes and his wife Mary are living at 20 Essex Street on the 1939 Register which was taken on the 29th September. Their marriage is recorded in the Barlick & Earby Times of the 15th September. I hope the photo is clear enough to see, as there is a good write up about the couple.
Norman and Mollie as she seems to have been known get a few mentions in the paper over the years.
