Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
So far today we have had wall to wall sun but with the saving grace of a light easterly breeze which I must say, is very refreshing!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon the sunny spells continued and we had some broken late sun at nightfall. It was a warm night and this morning we have a light breeze, an overcast sky but dry. The glass has fallen to 1008mb and the forecast is for a mixed day of sunny spells and possible light showers. The showers are expected after 09:00 when the light easterly breeze becomes WSW and increasing to moderate with gusts up to over 30mph for the rest of the day. This will allow us a high of 22C and a low of 11C tonight with as much as -3C wind chill this afternoon. Expect more rain and cooler tomorrow but then the rest of the week looks very similar to today but drier.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
We’ve had rain during the night and the air is certainly more breathable this morning, and cooler.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we had much more sun than the forecast suggested and the first rain I saw all day was a spatter of big drops at 19:30 as I was going to bed. This morning we have a breeze, broken overcast and it is dry. The glass is up slightly on 1009mb and the forecast is for a cool day of wind and heavy rain. The mostly SW winds will be moderate and gust to almost 35mph giving us a high of 17C and a low tonight of 12C with a wind chill of up to -3C. The outlook for the next six days is more moderate and dry with much less rain and temperatures in the low 20s.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we had a few short, heavy showers and it was noticeably cooler, this morning it is fine at the moment but we have hade rain in the night.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon we had some of the heaviest rain I have seen for a long time. It was a proper wet and windy day and cool with it. We had clear skies overnight and this morning we have a light breeze and if there is any cloud it's broken enough for me to see stars. The glass is steady on 1007mb and the forecast is for a dry day with broken overcast and lots of sunny intervals. The mainly WNW wind will be light and constant giving us a high of 21C and a low of 10C tonight with an almost negligible wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather for the next six days with perhaps some occasional light showers. Not Flaming June but seasonal weather.....

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was as per the forecast, a dry day with plenty of sunny spells. As the afternoon wore on it became more bright overcast and we only saw a brief spell of late sun before nightfall. This morning it is calm and overcast but dry. The glass is tending to rise and is on 1004mb. The prevailing wind is a very light easterly at the moment but will gradually shift and by noon will be in the SW and heading for westerly at Nightfall. We can expect a high of 21C and a low tonight of 14C with negligible wind chill all day. The outlook for the next six days is virtually a rerun of today with similar temperatures, sunny intervals and the addition of scattered showers.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was overcast and the only surprise was a light spatter of rain around 15:30 that wasn't on the hymn sheet. There was no late sun. This morning is calm and overcast but dry. The glass is down on 1010mb and the forecast is for a day of sunny intervals and later this evening a yellow warning of thunderstorms that is in force until 18:00 tomorrow. The mainly WSW winds will be light all day. We can expect a high of 21C and a low tonight of 13C with negligible wind chill. We are told tomorrow will be wet and thundery, the rest of the week will be similar to today.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was more sunny than the forecast and we had sun right up to nightfall. Despite warnings of possible thunder we had a quiet and dry night. This morning we are calm, overcast and dry. The glass is down on 1006mb and the forecast is for a day that starts with sunny intervals but then deteriorates to rain from 10:00 until this evening. There is a yellow warning for heavy rain and thunder until 21:00. I have looked at the Blitzortung map and at the moment the thunderstorms are in the far SE and the Channel. The light wind is variable covering all points of the compass during the day. We can expect a high of 20C and a low of 13C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook is looking mixed, overall temperatures close to today and variable amounts of wind and rain. A bit unsettled.

We've just had a very light shower. I am being brave and going out to post a letter and get some bleach. (I have almost run out! That will never do..... )

I've been out and got my bleach, we can all rest easy now. It's calm, overcast and close out there. I have looked and the thunderstorms are confined to SE France....
