That looks like a proper market and I love the timbered roof of the market hall. Put me down with David.... just a bit envious!
Not sure about shed this morning because I am late up, Susan made my bed so well...... Chiropodist later this morning and it looks like the hottest day of the year so I shall probably do nothing other than keep cool.... :biggrin2:

Morning

I thought you would like those pictures. Yesterday was amazingly hot, 30 degrees already when we got back from the market. It was too hot even to read in the garden. We spent the rest of the day inside apart from popping to the shop to buy some spray paint for the garden table which was looking a bit shabby and chipped. I had rubbed it down and undercoated it on Sunday adding a top coat of green which turned out to be completely the wrong colour. We now have the right colour and whilst it is cooler this morning ( another 30 plus is forecast) i will spray it. This morning the boiler is also having its annual service. The man is due sometime after 8.30 so I must get up and shower now or I will have no hot water . I may also get a bit more of the garden tidy done. Not much more to go. I can’t believe we have been here a week already . Have a good day all.

I shall ask for the name today David.
Gloria, Susan is picking me up at 11:30, we are booked in at the Waggoners for lunch at 12:30 and I have an idea it might be a fish and chip tea at John's.... What's more we have 30C promised so I don't think I shall be cold!
I shall be in the shed for an hour this morning for my daily therapy then scrub up seeing as how I am venturing out beyond the Manorial boundary. A very unusual thing for me to do. :biggrin2:

This morning I cut the topside of the lugs in the bearing caps where they will be drilled for the 5BA studs that fasten them down. Then I drilled the oil holes and pockets in them. The next task is to attach them to the bed and bore for the crankshaft..... But at the moment all I have in my sights is breakfast.....

Morning
I know that bit Tripps 🤣 but its putting it into prcatice I can’t do eg when travelling i have no concept. Bob will say go north and i say is that forwards, right or left. I once did a very interesting staff development exercise where we worked in pairs, one man one women. One person had a piece of paper with a diagram showing several points A and B etc. The other person had a blank piece of paper. The person with the diagram had to communicate to the one without where to put the points on their paper. We then swapped roles . Interestingly nearly all the men used NSEW and nearly all the women used up down left right. Both methods worked. The object of the exercise was that teaching and learning styles all differ and as a teacher you have to use a variety of styles to meet the needs of all of your students.

Thanks for the note Stanley I will check it out on a map.

Today is a typical August misty start though the weather forecast says rain for an hour. It was a hot sticky night and now a dark morning. We have a weekly shop to do as tomorrow we are in Malestroit for lunch and probably a walk along the canal, Friday is a public holiday when the shops will all shut and Saturday Joanne and Paul are coming for a meal and we need to buy for that. As Bob wants to do a long slow BBQ we will have to be around all day.

Yesterday morning the boiler was successfully serviced. Its 30 years old now , huge and still going strong. Whilst the man was doing the work Bob and I managed the last of the garden tidy. Bob even managed to prune back 4 shrubs, leaving another 5 to do.

In the afternoon we went to Vannes, about an hour away to a large trade DIY but open to anyone. We need a new cooker hob here . The present one is 3 gas burners and one electric. The electric one has failed beyond repair. We did the drive there and back with the roof down on the car which was lovely and cooling, though it was a few degrees lower than here. We bought the hob and some more paint for our garden table renovation plus some wood for a couple of repais to the floor supports of the new room. Bob hopes to fit the hob this afternoon. In the evening I did a very hot zoom pilates session. Luckily the temperature only hovered around 30 yesterday. Today is forecast 28 degrees, sun and cloud. Have a good day all

Taking it a bit easier than yesterday! We did an extra half hour taster session at the gym yesterday morning at 10.30. I had a light breakfast of a brew and banana which is fine for our normal hour long gym session. This one though was ramped up a bit and was 9 different exercises each of 45 seconds x 2 reps with a 15 second rest in the middle. I was perfectly fine and had done all 17 until the last one when I ran out of steam on the last session of the kettle bell swing. Nearly passed out but was caught by or trainer Katie who is a registered nurse. I had to end my session and have a sit down. She vended me with a loaded chocolate bar and a brew and I revived OK after 5 or 10 minutes. I was fit enough to walk home. I shoved one of my own made energy bars into me before lunch and another half litre of water. I then had to go to the surgery to give another blood sample as the one they took last week was said to be not suitable for testing. What they actually meant is that they failed to get it off to the lab in time!

Moral of the story is to fuel better before gym which I will adhere to before our next session.

Our Finlay comes today for a couple of days, I have booked train tickets for us tomorrow for Leeds, we are going to the Royal Armouries, not been for a while, hoping there are some demonstrations that we can look at. The demonstration of the flexibility of full armour for fighting is excellent as is the narrative from the English longbow man relating his role at the battle of Agincourt.

The August mist has turned out to be intermittent short showers that started whilst we were at the shops and my first load of washing was on the line. Its 26 degrees and rain plus thunder due to stop just after 2. Its not raining now but should be….i shall put my second load of washing out at 3.

Today is stage two of the alcoholic fruit cordial. We strain it and boil with sugar to a syrupy consistency. Then add the spirit, we have chosen gin…it was the cheapest at the Supermarket

Yes it was Short Clough and The livery stables is called Short Clough Stud. We spent 4 hours sitting in the shade and talking. I gave Vanessa your best wishes Gloria and she sends hers back, she remembered you.... I didn't get back home until after my bed time and so only got five hours sleep last night. I fancy ditching the shed this morning and going back to bed early.....
Susan is busy today, her daughter arrives from Australia this morning and she's bringing great grand daughter Lily with her so I'll see her some time soon.... Even so Susan will call in to see me this afternoon. My main goal will be to keep cool and recover from yesterday, it was very tiring but rewarding!
