Morning Cathy..... We're looking at very similar weather to yours, perhaps a shade warmer today but there is a strong wind....

I've had a walk to the Co-op for a couple of shelf fillers. It's a very pleasant morning out there, lots of sun and the wind isn't over chilling. Will it last all day? We shall have to wait and see.... :biggrin2:

We still have full sun. The Met Office say it's heavily overcast and we will have 'heavy showers' inside the hour.... They have been wrong so far!

I smile that with a horizon of a couple of days- they are proved on here to be wrong so often - yet people accept without question the "climate change " data whick looks forwards millenia.

Any excuse for some Bob Dylan - well off topic, but it's a short one, and worth a listen.
Just let it wash over you. We have tarried a while. He's 84 you know.

But David, they are using data gathered over the last 200 years to fuel their assertions, not future predictions.
Yesterday afternoon we did get rain eventually but not as bad as predicted and we had a sunny end to the day. This morning it's breezy and overcast in spite of the met office saying it's raining. The glass is steady on 993mb and the forecast is for a windy day of sunny spells and showers. The brisk southerly winds will be constant and gust to 30 mph all day. We can expect a high of 17C and a low tonight of 10C with a wind chill of -3C for most of the day. The rest of the week is similar mixed and broken weather.

I put both comments into AI (Chat GPT) and here's the result - back in milliseconds.

Edited version:

They can barely predict the weather a few days out – and they're often wrong – yet people unquestioningly accept climate change models that project thousands of years into the future. 😄 But those models are based on data from the last 200 years, not actual future observations.
A few thoughts on clarity:
"They" could be more specific. Are you referring to meteorologists? Climate scientists? The general scientific community? Clarifying that could make your point stronger. The smiley adds a bit of sarcasm, which is fine if that's your tone, but you might want to think about how it lands depending on your audience.
There’s a bit of a mix-up between weather forecasting (short-term, chaotic) and climate modeling (long-term, trend-based), which are quite different scientifically. That difference often gets lost in debates, but it's an important distinction.
Would you like help expanding or refining this argument for a specific context—like a social media post,

Make of it what you will. I think they have pointed out the flaw in my argument. Spoilsports. perhaps we should give up and put the robots in charge?

I rest my case m'lud :biggrin2:
Yesterday afternoon again developed into overcast and showers. At 07:00 it was raining as I went to bed. This morning we have a light breeze and it's overcast and cool. The glass is up a touch on 997mb and the forecast is for another day of sunny spells with the chance of showers early in the afternoon. The SSW wind will be a light breeze all day and we can expect a high of 19C and a low of 12C tonight. The wind chill will be -2C this morning but less for the rest of the day. The outlook is for a couple of days of showers and then dry and slightly warmer over the weekend.....

I've had another think. You can onl;y use what intelligence you've got, and I try to. Just because AI says something, does not mean it is "ex cathedra". It works to an algorithm and is under the control of someone somewhere. I don't like how it says that a smiley is a sign of sarcasm - no it's not - it's a sign of amusement.

I've decided that this statement is not necessarily true. "There’s a bit of a mix-up between weather forecasting (short-term, chaotic) and climate modeling (long-term, trend-based)".
I think they are the same - just over a different timescale. The fact trhat AI wants me to believe something different is a bit sinister.

Sceptics of the world unite.

As an aside - I read from Professor Brian Cox (the Chadderton lad) that only 6,000 years ago the Sahara desert was as overgrown with jungle just like the Congo is today. I looked elsewhere and it seems it's true. That time interval is just a blink in the overall story., and CO2 levels were not mentioned. I wonder why that change took place.

Yesterday afternoon was more overcast and light showers than sunny spells after a very sunny start to the day. The day ended as overcast and no late sun. This morning we have less wind but it's overcast and raining. The glass is down on 992mb and falling. The forecast is for a wet day. The southerly winds will begin light and gradually increase during the day to moderate. We can expect a high of 17C and a low of 11C tonight, the wind chill will be -2C later today as the wind rises. Expect another rainy day tomorrow but perhaps with more sunny spells. Then we have a spell of drier warmer weather, it should be a good weekend!

Yesterday was a wet day and we ended the day with a clearer sky but no late evening sun. This morning we have a light breeze, overcast and very light rain. The glass is up slightly on 995mb and the forecast is for a wet day with a yellow warning for thunderstorms this afternoon. The wind will be light SW until around noon when it backs through North to a moderate westerly. We can expect a high of 16C and a low of 9c tonight. (It's not going to be long until the heating kicks in!). There will be no wind chill this morning but -2C this afternoon. The outlook is for drier warmer weather over the weekend.....

It's quite bright and not raining at the moment. I've been out for a short walk and it is cool but OK because as yet there is no wind to give the air a chill.

Yesterday was better than the forecast insofar as we didn't have any of the thunderstorms that were forecast in the yellow warning. In fat we didn't get the rain either. The afternoon was overcast but dry and no late sun. This morning it's calm and we have broken cloud overcast nut so far it'd dry. The glass has jumped up to 1009mb and the forecast is for a day of sunny spells with perhaps a chance of a shower round midday. The constant WSW wind is light to moderate and we can expect a high of 18C, a low of 10C tonight and a wind chill of -2C as the wind strengthens into the afternoon. The outlook is for brighter warmer weather....

It was fine and dry with the sun trying to get through when we walked down to the Gym at 8.40. Wind had picked up a bit and it was damping slightly when we walked back up at 10.15.

Yesterday we had a light shower at midday and a generally overcast afternoon with no late sun. I think I had the best of the day in my walk to Town Square.... This morning it's calm, overcast and dry. The glass is up again on 1017mb and the forecast is for a dry day of sunny spells. The SE winds will be light to moderate and we can expect a high of 20C and a low tonight of 13C with a wind chill from late morning onwards that will reach -3C later in the afternoon. The outlook is for an even warmer day tomorrow and after that sunny spells and showers. We may see more wind next week.....

London seemed to have an eternity of Sun Days this Spring / Summer , it has only become more overcast the last 10 days or so - the Jet Stream is going straight accross the mid-point of England bringing the warm wet westerlies and rain in showers , heavy showers or a days drizzle. the weather really did change on Sept 1st this year.

Yesterday didn't live up to the promises in the forecast in terms of sun and temperature. The afternoon ended with overcast and no late sun and I can't say it ever felt warm.... This morning we have a breeze and clear skies (I saw no signs of the total lunar eclipse....) The glass has fallen back to 1007mb. The easterly winds will be moderate all day gusting to nearly 30mph. We can expect a high of 19C and a low tonight of 10C with a wind chill of -3C this morning but less later in the day. The outlook is for similar weather and perhaps a touch cooler....

Beautiful Spring day today. The forecast temp is 26C, but it also says that it won’t get past 21C. (?)
It’s warm enough 😊. Our skies are bright blue with white clouds.
Overnight we are having a Total Moon Eclipse . It will start at 3.00am and stretch for roughly 82 minutes.
Enjoy your day everyone. ☀️ 🙃
