I've been to the Co-op before it rains. That wind certainly has a chill with it! Or is it just me getting old....... :laugh5:

I think I have to admit that I feel the cold more now Gloria!
Yesterday afternoon deteriorated into showers and it got dark early because of the overcast. This morning first thing it was calm and clear. I have just checked and it's overcast and raining now. The glass has fallen to 992mb and the forecast is for sunny spells and heavy showers all day. The southerly winds will become brisk gusting to almost 40mph and we can expect 15C as a high and 8C as a low tonight. For much of the day we will have a -3C wind chill. This is back end weather..... The outlook looks no better and Sunday could be particularly wet.....

I wore my Schoffel jacket over my fleece lined shirt and while it didn't rain, the jacket did a good job keeping the wind out!

We went for a walk, it just started to tip it down as we went into the churchyard so we sheltered under the lychgate, only for a minute or so then it cleared, the rest of the walk was fine, quite breezy but not cold.

Yesterday afternoon deteriorated rapidly and ended up with rain and gloom. It went dark early. There were clear spells during the night but first thing it had started to cloud over. We have 100% overcast now and it is raining. The CH has come on, mark the 12th of September down as the start of the 2025/26 heating season in Barlick. The glass is up slightly on 997mb and the forecast is for sunny spells and heavy showers all day. The constant SW winds will be moderate all day gusting to 35mph and we can expect a high of 14C and a low of 9C tonight with a wind chill of -3C for most of the day. The outlook is for similar cool and wet weather for the next six days.... I think we're getting the message, back end is here!
Later at 05:00. After a short spell when the sky cleared the cloud has rolled back in and we have heavy rain.....

We've seen nothing but cloud and rain Gloria. What has struck me particularly is that normally when the heating first kicks in it is just a short blast and that's it. Not so this morning it has come on and remained on steady since first thing. I haven't touched the thermostat, it is still on last winter's setting..... This is nothing to do with my old bones but simply low temperatures..... :biggrin2:

We’ve been out and about an hour and half ago and we had seriously heavy hailstones, the car was struggling clearing the windscreen, in fact, it wasn’t, just glad we weren’t on the motorway.

That sounds like an element of thunder weather Gloria..... Our heaviest showers felt the same.
Yesterday afternoon gradually improved but still ended the day as overcast and going dark noticeably earlier. There were clear spells during the night with brilliant moonlight but first thing this morning we had reverted overcast and heavy rain. The glass has fallen to 1000mb and the forecast is for another day of showers. The Met Office also talks about sunny spells but if we get the same mix as yesterday they will be as scarce as hen's teeth..... The constant moderate SW wind will gust to 35mph and we can expect a high of 15C with a low of 8C tonight and a -3 wind chill for much of the day. The outlook is for two very wet days followed by broken weather like yesterday and today for the rest of the week. No Indian Summer in sight and we can look forwards to the Equinoctial gales....

My towels are nicely drying in the ☀️and breeze.
Little bit of rain coming early in the week, probably just a few showers. Hey Ho 😊

Definitely better than us Cathy!
Yesterday afternoon ended like the day before with overcast, a spatter of rain and getting dark earlier. This morning it was dry and a few stars were visible so the overcast must be broken. The glass is up on 1005mb and the forecast is for a bright morning and then a wet afternoon. We have a yeallow warning for wind. The southerly winds will be light to moderate and gust to almost 40mph. We can expect a high of 14C and a low of 11C tonight with a chill of -3C this afternoon and evening. Wind and rain tomorrow and Wednesday and not much better for the rest of the week.

Yesterday ended with heavy overcast and rain and wind. It went dark early. There were a few clear spells during the night, I woke once and saw Jupiter but when I awoke this morning we had wind and rain. The glass has fallen to 987mb and the forecast is simple, wind and rain all day. In fact we have a yellow warning for wind.... The southerly winds will be strong all day and gust to almost 55mph at times. We can expect a high of 14C and a low tonight of 11C with a wind chill of -4C for most of the day. Definitely wet, windy and cold. I feel sorry for anyone who has to be out in it. The six day outlook isn't very cheerful, similar weather if a touch warmer but no mention of sun. We might be looking at back end....

It’s absolutely hoofing it down here, and there’s a very blustery wind with it also.
