In my experience, dogs shed their own weight in hair annually, Jack Russells 2X!
I shall be in the shed starting on the journey towards 4 crankshafts. With a bit of luck a set of castings should arrive today and a gallon of vinegar....
Susan visits this afternoon and I need to shop for the veggies that go with my chicken.... Peppers and cherry tomatoes.

This morning I started on the task of doing the initial clean-up on each of the blanks. I decided to use an old fashioned Wimet carbide tipped tool to see how I got on. The rest of my time was spent adjusting feeds and speeds and managing swarf. The image is of the second blank when it came to knocking off time after an hour in the shed. I am ready to reverse it and clean up what remains but that's for tomorrow. I am looking for breakfast now.

Morning

Its bright this morning and a little warmer. There is a little rain forecast around lunchtime, otherwise a dry cloudy day. I am at art in Haslingden this morning, followed by a quick lunch. Then we shall set off to Dorset. We are staying overnight in Gloucester in a Premier Inn, but eating at our niece’s this evening. We would have all gone out for a meal but her labrador had an operation only a week ago and cannot be left. I see the forecast for Dorset has improved, fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain too much, we have packed for all weathers, wet, dry, warm, cool, windy. We have never been to Dorset so are looking forward to it. Have a good day all

I carried on with cleaning the blanks up and finished up with four blanks clean and ready for turning to size. I abandoned Ideas of cooking my chicken after oversleeping. I think that was the right decision. I am ready for breakfast now.

Morning

What a warm night down here, it was still over 20 degrees at 8.30 pm and 17 this morning. Yesterday was mainly dry with occasional heavy showers and temperatures of 23 degrees. Today’s forecast is good but rain for the next three day's of varying amounts. It was nice to see our niece and husband last night and Sarah had also invited her Dad, our brother in law. He is approaching 90 now but still looks like he did in his 70s . He walks about 4 miles a day, usually going with Sarah when she walks her labrador

Todays plan is to enjoy the drive down to the cottage we are staying in for next week. Its a cross country drive and we plan on calling at Frome and wherever takes our fancy. We really do not know the area so it should be interesting for us. Have a good day all

Today we're meeting with some old friends for lunch. I've known him since 1976 and her since about 1977. It's a friendship where it doesn't need to be reinforced, we could (and have) left it a couple of years between seeing each other but we just pick up where we left off. I'm breaking my diet especially! Chips will be on the menu.
