It's that time of the month again when I have to read my 'smart' meters.... I have the bill for the last month, £71. I suspect this might be low tide!

I've just managed my first attempt at sending in the FIT meter reading for the solar panels, something Col has done over the years since they were installed. I'm wondering if I should continue with his spreadsheet detailing all the readings and payments? I'm also wondering if I should let them know when Colin dies, if I do will they consider it a new account and reduce the tariff? Tricky.

I’d have thought the house had the tariff, but I’m only thinking.

It's the owner of the house and panels Gloria. I've been searching online and it looks as if I will inherit Cols share of the panels with the same tariff, which is good news.

Well done Wendy. When I fill in our regular submission to EDF the form asks me if I'm the owner of the panels so I guess if I were gone she would simply say yes but would contact them to explain so that the money could be paid correctly to the bank. Our payment comes into our joint account.

I am on the verge of getting my monthly request from Centrica to send in readings from my 'Smart meters'.
Is there any chance that they might solve this problem?

I read my 'smart' meters yesterday and reported to BG. I have the energy bill for the last month, £129.60. I think we can say that the 25/26 heating season is well under way.....

E.On have fixed my smart meters, they're now sending reads again. It was a backend fix, no home visit required.

It depends how persistent you are telling your supplier they don't work. I sent an email once a week :biggrin2:

Good to see the use of Small Modular Reactors has taken a step forward
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c051y3d7myzo

A first-of-its-kind nuclear power station is to be built on Anglesey, bringing up to 3,000 jobs and billions of pounds of investment.

The plant at Wylfa, on the Welsh island's northern coast, will have the UK's first three small modular reactors (SMR), although the site could potentially hold up to eight.

Work is due to start next year with the aim of generating power by the mid 2030s.
